Here's what works for me, move the rack stops to the left if you haven't already and then the rack itself. i.e.



and



Now you'll need to remove the bumpers at the back of the rack rail...

i.e.

push down on the bumper as shown



and pull it down and out at the same time...it takes some force, you can use a small screwdriver.



Now you'll need to slide the rail all the way out as shown, but careful not to let the ball bearings fall into the sump area in the process.



I usually hold the broken piece in place while removing the rail...



...( they come in a kit at "repairclinic.com" under number 1394379 like shown here )



The trick now is to install the balls into the holders first



and the holders into the stationary part of the rail on the inside wall...



The inside wall rail will keep the holders in place as you slide the inside rail into place...this will usually require holding the holder with one hand while pushing the sliding rail back into place...



Once this is done, re-install the back rail bumpers followed by the rack and then finally the front rack stoppers and that should do it.

P.S.

I should also mention you as I alluded to, be sure none of the old 8 ball bearings didn't fall down into either the drain pump or circulation/wash pump. This is something I've seen far too often on Asko/Viking dishwashers with the end result being a broken impeller in either pump...or both, yikes ! I use a telescopic magnet to fish around as it will be the only object made of metal...unless something else has fallen in the sump well area, it's good to check.

I removed the plastic bearing holder on the under side of the slide. I know it did not fix the problem, but it eliminated the bind that would not allow the rack to slide out completely. Thanks

More than likely the heater element is shot.

Asko built d/w which is now owned by sub zero wolf. Fyi . To get parts you could call mfr direct which is cost effective. Hope this helps

Hey Tommy, Your description leads me to think that you are plugged. I have never had to change a valve trying to change flow. I would not do that. Take off the hose before the valve and be sure that you have good flow from the source. If so, see if you can remove and open up the valve. Some you can and some you cannot... If you cannot save it, get the correct replacement and it should work fine. I think your valve is plugged. look for a screen that you can clean in the inlet of the inlet valve. Doc

You'll need to check for the water inlet hose, the water inlet valve and the float switch assembly. When the water fills your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages. If the hose is not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, if the water will not even fill for few seconds then certainly the water inlet valve is bad and should be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to check continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. However, if the valve is fine then the float switch assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.
