Is your iPad connected to the Internet? Have you updated your iPad with latest updates (check this out from settings and see if you have any updates waiting to be downloaded)

you can't. The imei is a unique code on every mobile.

I too have had the "no sim card installed message. What has always worked for me is to go into settings and put the phone into airplane mode for about ten seconds and then switch back to regular mode which causes the phone to reconnect to the ATT network. The sim message goes away. This is also a good fix for when your phone isn't connecting to 3G or showing an "E" instead of 3G.

Take a pencil and push on the button and see if it works i am sorry if it does not . If it does not work.GO TO THE APPLE STORE AND GET A NEW PHONE OR LET THEM REPLACE THE BUTTON

It's not a issue on your side at all. It;'s a issue with the old iphone and the cell carrier they use.
