I know it's been a while since you posted this, but I thought I'd put an "answer" in here in case someone else stumbles across this post when trying to figure out what is wrong with their washer.
I'm not sure how to put it in service mode, but the problem is likely with your water pump. This pump pulls all of the water out of your machine before it goes into spin mode. If the pump doesn't engage then the washer won't spin. You likely need a new pump. They usually cost around $50 and are pretty easy to install. But if you have standing water in your machine, then you are going to have a mess when you pull the hose off to disconnect the pump. I'd suggest having a shop vac handy to **** up all the water as it comes pouring out of the Tub to Pump Hose. A towel isn't going to cut it. You're going to have lots of water that you don't want all over your floor.
Water will not come in through the cold water port
Replace the fill valve Take the hoses off the back of the machine and then remove the rear panel. The valve has a screw holding it in place and a wiring harness attached. Simply remove the valve and replace it. It is not too expensive.
My washer cold water wont work the supply is good
If I understand your issue correctly, you're saying no cold water gets to the machine. If that's true, then do the following:
Turn off the hot and cold water to the machine
Disconnect the cold water hose to the machine - catch the water from the hose in a small container
Check for a plugged water inlet screen - this is pretty common
Clean the screen, reconnect the hoses, turn on the water, check for leaks and try again
If no luck, you may have a bad cold water inlet fill valve, but it's much more likely to be a plugged screen
Water leaks into the bowl after clothes havve been
Unplug power and see if water still leaks in. If it does, it's probably the valve.Water valves can become corroded or clogged causing slow leaks. Most are easy to replace and cost under 50$. Hope this solves it- Thanks---ED
Wont fill with water it only goes half way
Your pressure switch stops the water and allows it to start the next cycle. It's a switch either in the control panel or at the top of the tub with a small tube connected to it which goes down between the inner and outer tub. As the water level increases the air in the tube is compressed until there is enough pressure to make the switch stopping the water from filling. This tube can get clogged and the switch won't work. Remove the tube and clean it out. Blowing on the tube when it's still connected to the switch will make the switch if it's working and clear.
I have the CFW-8000 washing machine. When the
It sounds like the timer showing 1:09 is the time in minutes (109 minutes = 1 hour 49minutes) which is approximately the same as your own timer shows.
The soap dispenser often gets blocked and you will have to remove it and clean away all the residual, built up soap.
It sounds like the drain plug in the base of the unit has become blocked and that is why the soap dispenser is filling with water. All the water SHOULD DRAIN THROUGH the dispenser when it washes the soap down into the washing machine.
Also sounds like your water or fabric softener is blocked too!
Take the plastic parts out and clean away all soap residues.
What would cause the cold water not to shut during
Hello, Your problem is either going to be the pressure switch or the inlet valve. To figure out which when the cycle starts and the water is pouring in pull the power cord. if the water stops it means you have a bad pressure switch. If the water does not stop it means your problem is with the inlet valve being stuck open. Hope this helps! Mike
My washer will not spin. For about a year a belt
Move the machine from the wall and open the back panel. Usually there is an area where you can see the motor, pulleys and belts. If the belt is broken you can see it sitting there, inside the machine. All you have to do is guess which pulley it came from. Usually the pulley groves are shiny if the belt was from those. You may have to slacken the bolts holding the mechanism to replace a new belt, that's if you find another belt from the manufacturer. Or, alternatively you can purchase a similar belt from a tool store. It is difficult to say further because I don't know how old the machine is, but all machines have the same belt and pulleys operations.
Timer knob on washer broke off leaving the plastic sleeve attache
I did fix this problem myself, I found a heavy duty 'bread tie' type of wire, I tied it around the base of the stuck sleeve and wrapped the loose end of the 'bread tie' around my pliers and pulled very hard and it shot off like a bullet, I am now using my replacement knob..yeah for me..
Drain hose to crosley washing machine, where?
looking at the rear of the washer, my Crosley drain is on the left, about 4" from the floor and about 6" from the side. You might need to remove the back panel. Probably should anyway, so you can blow the dust/lint out of it
Won't spin out clothes after replacing belt
The clothes are wet after spinning
When the clothes are wet at the end of a cycle, check these:
Motor coupler
Spin cycle
Siphoning
Water-inlet valve
Motor coupler
To test the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let the machine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether the tub is spinning:
- If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine.
- If it isn't spinning--and your machine was produced by Whirlpool®--you may have a broken coupler. Many Whirlpool-made washers use a small, relatively inexpensive device called a motor coupling. This plastic-and-rubber component is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. When that happens, you need to replace it completely.
Spin cycle
If the washer doesn't reach its proper spin speed, the clothes may be too wet at the end of a cycle. Check to be sure the load is properly balanced and run a spin cycle again. If the clothes are still wet, you may have a worn or loose belt (Maytag®), a worn clutch (GE®/Hotpoint®), or a worn motor pulley or tub bearing. Replace the applicable component.
Alternatively, there could be clothes caught between the inner and outer tubs. Read the "It spins but won't pump" section of the "It won't drain" section. Also, there could be other things that cause friction on the drive train. Seek the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.
Siphoning
If the water that pumps from the machine goes right back into the machine after the spin cycle, it may be because your washer is siphoning the water from a laundry tub with a slow drain, back into the washer. Try to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is there something stuck in the drain?) Also, be sure the drain hose doesn't reach more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub. If it does, cut off the excess.
Water-inlet valve
Water-inlet valves eventually fail. One problem that may develop with a water-inlet valve is that it can no longer completely shut off when the electricity is turned off to it. Then, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub--you may notice that your washer has water in it when you haven't used it for a few days. To fix this, replace the valve.
