Bunn CWTF 15-APS Coffee Maker Questions & Answers
Replace heating element in bunn CWTF15-APS
You should call your vendor for service. Especially if this equip is on loan from them.
*** the following is for information only. All service should be done by a qualified tech.***
* CWTF have an on/off heater switch in the back of the brewer plate. Make sure this is on as it provides power to both heater and heater blanket.
* There is a schematic on the back, side, or top panel. You will need a continuity meter to check the following:
* There is a thermo fuse in series with the heater element. check and replace if open.
* There may be a 2nd High limit fuse (disk shape) or another thermo fuse on the top of the tank. usually zip tied to the water faucet lines. check and replace if open.
* There is a thermostat (adjustable) in series with the element that may be open, shorted, or out of adjustment/calibration. Replace as needed.
* The element could be open or shorted to ground (ripped casing exposed electrical wires to water and grounding to tank housing). Replace element (and gaskets while your at it)
* I suggest getting a repair kit with all the gaskets as they are probably burnt or cracked from age.

6. press and hold the brew switch until the inlet solenoid clicks 3 times, then release
7. once the water level is at about 40 ounces, turn the main red switch off and let the rest of the water come out
8. if it brews short, press and hold the brew switch again until the 3 clicks, then press and release the brew switch for 2 more second of brew time (up to 5 times per brew)
9. if it brews too much, press and release the brew switch for two less seconds of brew time (up to 5 times), then press and hold the brew switch until the 3 clicks then release
10. once you get to 64 ounces, put the switch on the circuit board to lock and replace the panel

Bunn coffee maker cwtf15 water is boiling over
if it's actually boiling, replace the high temp limit fuse on the top of the tank on the inside rear of the brewer. may be stuck shut. if it's just overflowing the container, recallibrate by using a 64 ounce measuring cup and the instruction on the inside of the front panel
Water leaking from the top
open up the top and check the trough drain for lime. if it is obstructed, the water will overflow. use a screwdriver and poke it through the drain
Water not coming out of hot water spigot
thermal fuse is blown. it is located in the top, right rear of the machine in what is now browned tubing. you can either bypass the fuse with a jumper, or get a new part through bunn (800) 352-BUNN (2866)
Water is not hot when turn on
check the heat switch in the rear. if it's on, check the thermal fuse in the top right rear of the brewer. it'll be in a now browned tubing. you can get it through bunn (800) 352-BUNN (2866)
Carraffe overflowing
first, delime the sprayhead and the trough drain in the top with a flathead screwdriver to ensure maximum flow. next, you'll need a measuring cup or bucket that goes up to 64 ounces. then follow the instructions on the front panel
Bunn CWTF15-APS Unable to hold 195 at the brew head
Yes it is possible to go the the next larger element.
Yes if the machine was plumbed there would be a difference in the way it brewed the water temp. if you look at the end hose in the pan from the solenoid, it takes a while for it to pour out 3liters.
Try using a different sprayhead(if yo;u are using a 6 hole try getting a 5 hole. That will constrain the flow of water a little more allowing the element more time the heat the water.
My Bunn CWT15-APS , PF
It is possible that the brew volume needs to be set, remove the front panel and you find the instructions to set the brew volume.
I have a used Bunn
I would remove the front panel and check the pressure stat to make sure it is set high, turn knob all the way to the right the back it up 1/4 of a turn. It that is done and after 7 minutes water is not hotter then the problem is on the top, the hi-limit needs to be replaced.
