Zojirushi NH-VBC18 10-Cup Rice Cooker - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
The rice getting spoiled
hygiene is an important thing first the cooker may say you can save it but frankly I take my cooked rice and put it in Tupperware and place it in the fridge, bacteria will grow in a warm environment no matter how tight the lid is on. next the unit will have to be washed and then sterilized with bleach water. then let it sit for more than 10 days to dry you should be ok after that but please save your food in the fridge a microwave will warm a bowl in about 30 seconds.

Unit heats
The problem with your unit is the heater and the heater control. Usually when the rice cooker cooks after cooking it switches to warm mode this is to ensure the rice remains warm. The sensor or part of the control board which is responsible for this transition is most likely damaged. Get both the control board and the sensor. If the unit gets to warm then the heaters are still working but if the temperature does not go beyond warm then the sensor or the control board is the cause of the source of the problem.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

The rice dries out in the "keep warm" mode
You have a strange problem. I use my rice cooker often and the only thing that I can think of that may be casing your problem is if the steam vent is clogged. A clogged vent would cause the steam to condense and run to the bottom.
With the machine empty of food, you could try pouring hot water through the vent to see if this clears any clogs. If it does not, it could be other problems that I can tell you will cost more money to fix than to replace with a new Rice cooker.
Good Luck.

You need to have the fuzzy logic board replaced. It will cost at least $50.00 according to the Zojirushi repair person I spoke with. I'm having the same problem. The buttons just stopped working.

Spoiled rice after 20+ hours
Our rice cooker would keep the rice from spoiling for about two years and then all of a sudden it wouldn't keep for even 12 hours before the "spoiling" smell would be present. I tried really washing every washable part and even did an alcohol wipedown in case it was a bacterial or something, but nothing worked. I liked the cooker before this started happening, but don't want to buy another one because it is so expensive. When I was in Japan, there are some REALLY good ones that would monitor the moisture level and want one of those, but will have to live with what is available here. Anyone got a solution?

Zojirushi bread machine dough cycle not working
It sounds like it is working fine Carol. When bread dough it worked and stretched by the paddle it does make a fat blob, / ball of dough. When that is left to prove, it increases in volume and fills the pan for baking.I am a trade chef, I make bread by hand. I am retired and make bread very 2 weeks. I have used a bread machine in the past and researched many bread machine issues here on Fixya. It is important to load the ingredients in the right order, wet ingredients first and dry ingredients on top. They are really only suitable for yeast breads with high gluten flour. No good for your Christmas Cake!

How to fix zojirushi rice cooker E01
Hello -
The error code E01 is probably explained in the Troublehooting section of user manual for your Zojirushi rice cooker.
If you do not have the manual for your model of rice cooker, you may be able to find it (PDF format, requiring Adobe Acrobat Reader software, free) here:
https://www.zojirushi.com/app/category/rice-cookers
Since I have no idea what model of rice cooker you own, I cannot give you the link to the manual for your model.
Best wishes.
