My Magic Bullet will not start or run. it does not twist in the base. How can I fix that?

Sounds like the white plastic sliders that turn the motor on and off may be stuck. The sliders engage the 3 tabs on the mixer cup which the push down and turn the motor on. Probably have some leakage from the mixing cup gumming the white sliders up. Unplug the mixer from power and use a cloth or sponge fairly wet with some hot water to try and loosen up the stuff under the sliders. Then spritz the sliders with some WD-40 which will displace the water. Dry it off good with a paper towel, let it dry/drain well upside down on a paper towel before you plug it back in. Good luck.

Can you replace a melted cord

I posted the reply pasted below on how to take the Bullet apart - really not difficult once you know where the hidden screws are apart. Once apart it easy to see where the power cable terminates and should be easily possible to connect in a new cable in its place.Yes its easy to take the Magic Bullet apart. 1. First pry out the 4 black rubber feet on the base with small screwdriver and unscrew the 4 cross head screws revealed below.2. Remove this black base to reveal the inner black base Unscrew the cable clamp - 2 screws and the 3 screws that retain the remaining black base to the body of the bullet - slide it off over the power cable.3. Turn the bullet the proper way up and pry out the 3 white rubber bumpers with a screw driver blade that are set inside for the cup to rest on - each is located with two rubber pins. Once all 3 are removed you will reveal 3 more cross head screws - these countersunk - remove all 3 and then the internal motor will be free to lift out through the top of the Bullet casing.4. Its possible to slip out the 3 white plastic sliders - taking care to note how they seat each on a small spring to cleanup both the slides and the sliders. To re assemble step by step in reverse - noting to align the motor cable with the cutouts on the bullet base.

Base gear for the top of the base

Carefully take it apart and clean it thoroughly. If you see any burnt wires, trying replacing those if you know how to replace one. As for the plastic gear on the power base, it can be easily replaced with any ordinary similar coupler of the same size, for example like the one KitchenAid supplies (Blending coupler 9704230). The only catch here is that you need to replace the coupler on the base of your choppers as well. This would be a better idea considering getting rid of the cheap plastic used in these blenders and the need for long-term use.

Plastic gear broke

So, rather than pay for an entire new motor and wait for two weeks forthem to get it to me, I just made a new gear/broken thing. I crazyglued the old piece back together again and used it to make a plastermold...like the way people do with their kid's hands. Then I filledthe mold with JB Weld and let it dry. After that, I drilled a hole inthe new JB weld gear so that it would fit over the metal part in thebullet(that actually spins).

Glued it on (with more jb weld) and the thing has been making my smoothies and grinding my coffee with no more issues.

Sounds complicated, but it wasn't too bad. Funny thing is, the newpiece is probably heaps stronger than the cheap plastic thing thatbroke in the first place.

Do it yourself, or e-mail me: [email protected]
I'm tired of made-to-break products and could make anyone else one of these things for around 10 bucks!

Do you know where I could get a manual on Magic

If you go on the website, http://www.buythebullet.com/ , they don't have a manual, but they do have recipes which not only tell you the ingredients to use, but how to use the machine to make them.
All the pieces except for the base are dishwasher safe and all the cups and lids (not the blades) are microwave safe.
Hope this helps!
