While not quire familiar with this printer I have some ideas. first most paper detection involve either mechanical switches or sensors. The sensors use the white paper either to reflect or block the sensor beam. Then as paper moves through logic resets. ( from your message I think you know these but just put as refresher). you have checked for physical paper and found none, so I would get a can of air and spray sensor slots as paper dust can build up over time and the dust looks like paper to the sensor. If you have air compressor open all cover and remove ink or toner and spray away. this is more prevalent in the higher speed printers, but can build up over time. Not sure if the printer says where the jam is located which would be helpful.

Are you sure the color ink hasn't dried out?Pull the cartridge and carefully wipe the print head across a facial tissue or paper towel. Don't touch the metal contact points on the cartridge as sometimes the smallest static charge can destroy the cartridge.Depending on the printer, setting it to color it may use only the color cartridge, but more likely it will use both the color and black to make up the print. If this isn't a driver issue I'd check to be sure the print head and ink cartridges are secure and not loose. Also check the drive belt on the head to be sure it's not slipping or broken.

Lift feed panel, then the cover. carefully pull in thedirection of normal feed onto the scan plate. Do not try to pull out from the entrance.

Did the camera come with a usb cord for connecting to external devices?

You should have a disc that has all the drivers on to work the printer on your computer, if not go onto the Internet and type canon then make sure you select a Canon site not just one that offers canon info and along near the top should be a list of things to connect to chose driver updates, you can then choose your printer from a list then just download the drivers from there open and run them all should work then

I think this problem is not related to your printer but rather the software you are trying to print from. I think it could be printer related only if you see jagged lines, meaning you have to clean the printhead. Please be more specific about what program do you use to open those music sheets and print from? What computer and operating system do you have?
