Reddy HEATER RLP30 30,000-BTU PORTABLE LP PROPANE FORCED AIR HEATER Questions & Answers
Propane heater wont stay running
is the sensor for the thermocouple located in the right spot in the flame, remove it and if you have access to a propane torch, heat the end till its red hot and leave it connected to the gas valve, then start the unit and this will tell you if the sensor is properly positioned in the pilot flame on the unit itself,if not you could have a defective new thermocouple or another safety device keeping it from staying lit or the gas valve is faulty
The heater ignites well, but if it gets a clear
I would start by replacing the thermocouple. It is suppose to keep the gas valve open when in operation. If the mercury in the thermocouple dries out it won't keep the gas valve open and thus the flame goes out. If that does not work then you have a gas valve problem.
Have an rlp30 reddy heater, have spark and gas but will not light.
wile red button is pushed no flame or turns off when the button is released the flame dies ? if no flame tank is too small or spark isn't in far enough to catch gas . if flame is present with button down then the over heat switch on the in line thermal coupler could b bad u can check the over heat switch with a jumper between the two wires and if it stays lit you got it if it goes out then its the thermal coupler that's bad
I try to light my heater, holding red button in
It could be either a defective thermocoupler (which would look like the tip is corroded and shortened) or the thermal switch kit may have dirty electrical connection at one or all of the spade clips (pull each clip and clean with an abrasive like sand paper then replace the clips making sure they are tight. If the pilot still won't stay lit, the thermal switch may have gone bad. Jump it out to verify. I found parts online at http://www.cart32hosting.com/estore/template/thumbnails.php?id=010780&cid=39 Good luck!
The unit will light however after a few minutes of
Does this unit have an OXYGEN DEPLETION SENSOR ? if so, then are you using the heater in an area that is too confined or too closed-up? You say it is forced air, therefore the air must move continuously or the over-heat sensor will stop the gas since there is no air to remove the heat being produced. If this unit has a thermocouple flame sensor, the flame my not be touching thethermocouple sufficiently and the thermocouple thinks something is wrong and stops the gas. Or the thermocouple can be weak and not give a strong signal to allow the gas valve to stay open. This is common on heater and hot water heaters, and you simply change the thermocouple.
Good Luck, Macgivor
My heater won't stay running
if you get heat when it runs and then it shuts downs you need to clean your flame rod or replace the thermocouple if its a pilot lit furnace
Reddy Heater Model Rlp39A Pilot will not stay
YOUR IN LUCK EASY FIX, IT IS THE THERMO COUPLER IT IS A ROUND COPPER PEICE ABOUT 2 INCHS LONG IT MUST BE IN CONTACT WITH THE FLAME THEY COME LOOSE DO TO MOVEMENT MAKE SURE IT IS IN CONTACT IF IT IS REPLACE IT FROM ONE AT HARDWARE STORE THEY ARE GANERIC MAY TAKE SOME RIGGING TO GET IT TO FIT BUT IT WILL AVERAGE COST 10.00
Heater will not stay lit after releasing button
Make sure your thermocouple tip is in the pilot flame and the other end is snuggly screwed into the control. Clean the pilot if not heating thermocouple. If pilot is heating tip thermocouple and it still goes out after holding the button down for 2 minutes, then your thermocouple is likely bad.
I have a reddy heater pro 110 that runs fine for a few minutes then dies. The pump is at 5 psi where it is supposed to be . It has new filters and nozzle. What else could it be ?
Here are some possible causes and solutions:
Insufficient fuel supply: If the fuel supply is not sufficient, the heater may shut off. Check the fuel tank and make sure it is full. If the fuel tank is full, check the fuel line for any blockages or leaks. If you find any issues, repair or replace the fuel line.
Dirty fuel filter: A dirty fuel filter can cause the heater to shut off. Check the fuel filter and clean or replace it if necessary.
Faulty photocell: The photocell is responsible for detecting the flame. If the photocell is dirty or faulty, the heater may shut off. Clean the photocell with a soft cloth and check if the heater works properly. If the problem persists, replace the photocell.
Defective motor: If the motor is defective, the heater may shut off. Check the motor and replace it if necessary.
Broken ignition system: If the ignition system is broken, the heater may shut off. Check the ignition system and replace it if necessary.
As you have covered some other possibilities, if the above doesn't offer relief, you may have to consult a professional technician or contact the manufacturer.
