I have a Cosco Alpha
Hi Andrea,
Your car seat has expired and may no longer be used safely. Please do not sell it or give it to another family.

How can I replace the harness
I'm not expert in these particular items, but as with all safety related equipment, if it designed to be a user replaceable part, it will be obvious how, easy to do it, and will likely have instruction stickers stuck on the device itself. It is never recommended to attempt to repair any safety device, particularly those parts of the device that is so intrinsic to it's safe operation, not to mention a device that protects something so precious :-)

Car seat has a crack
You need to replace the car seat immediately. The car set is no longer safe if there is a crack. If it is new, return it to wherever you bought it from. You should not purchase used car seats because you don't know if the car seat was in an accident. http://www.caringforkids.cps.ca/handouts/car_seat_safety

Removing seat cover
Dorel Juvenile Group manufactures these car seats for under the Cosco brand. You should check out their web site.
- Check out the recall notices and make sure your seat is not listed.
- Register your car seat so that you are informed of any future recalls.
There does not seem to be any Manuals on their website, but they do list a phone number. 1-800-544-1108
When I took mine apart I did the following.
- Take many pictures of it first so you can see how it goes back together.
- Put all of the parts in a container so you don't lose any.
- Start by removing the screws on the headrests. There are four of them.
- Using a flat screwdriver on the left side and a pair of pliers on the right (as you are facing it) pull the metal rod from the hinge to the right. Make sure you don't damage the springs.
- The screwdriver can be used to gently pry the square metal strap anchor from the plastic holder. It is tight!
- Then fish the anchor through the seat and fabric.
- The shoulder straps have to go from the front through the fabric.
- There is a front clip that is located between the child's legs. I had to finesse the fabric cover around this.
I think that is all I did. We washed the cover in COLD water on delicate and soaked it overnight to get it clean. Hang dry!

How do I remove the
This car seat does not convert to a booster. It becomes a "Belt-positioning booster". The back and headrest remain while using as a booster. You remove the 5-point harness and use the car's shoulder strap seat belt.
The belt positioning is done by the plastic parts at the top on either side of the seat.
Following is the link to get the instructions for this seat:

In order to change from
Hi,
please feel free to call at 1-800-544-1108 and they can send you a manual in case you dont have it.
*To convert the car seat into a booster seat, turn the car seat over and remove the pin that holds the base in place. tHEN REMOVE THE BELTS AND THE BUCKLE.
*To remove you need to bend/twist the keeper until you can push it UP through the seat and remove the belt/strap. It is now a booster seat for use with a lap/shoulder belt in the car. Store all the parts you removed in a ziploc bag for when your child outgrows it so it can be reused
PLEASE RATE MY HELP :)
