Vitamix Super 5000 Work Top Blender - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I have a Vitamix Super
It's probably fine, those motors are very strong. I'd be looking for something like a wire off or broken first. A motor does not often fail without a lot of heat and burning smell.
Vitamix 5000 suddenly stopped working
As the override gizmo will not reset when cooled down you do know that it is faulty so replacing it is going to have to happen anyway if you are repairing it. It may be just that item that's gone bad or it may have been made bad by the motor drawing excessive current. The proper way to check current draw would be by running it through an ammeter. The last thing you want is a faulty motor, they cost a fortune.

Vita-Mix 5000 blender shuts off under heavy blending loads.
first check the blades on the container thay should turn easy by hand if not thats your problem , you will need blades . blades turn easy ? you will need to replace the motor . the temp /overload has changed and is tripping to easy . this is common with people that use there vitamix for tough chores a lot . a lesser blender would just burn up a motor in a puff of smoke .a vitamix dies this way . in the end its the same you will need a motor

Leaking blender jar
If it is not the HUGE blade retaining ring under the beaker a bit loose then you will be buying new parts to repair it. The only other possibilities are beaker cracked and leaking (new beaker) or bearings & seals worn (new blade & bearing assembly)
Problem with electric mirror
The problem seems to be with your regulator and not the motor. Your regulator probably has dust in it which will have to be removed after opening it. You could try pushing the regulator a little harder to see if it works.
My vita-mix just stopped working, there is slight
If the burning smells like plastic then the walnut shells most likely put too much strain on the motor and burned it out. If the burning does not smell like plastic then you most likely have walnut shell grit jamming your motor.
This can be cleaned out by first ENSURING IT IS UNPLUGGED FROM THE WALL.
- First remove the canister (if possible)
- The remove the blade (if possible) check for a build up of grit between the blade and the shaft connecting it to the motor.
- Check the channel the shaft passes through from the motor for large chunks of walnut shells or date paste.
- Clean the canister thoroughly with warm water and leave it to soak overnight in a water/soap mixture.
If this has not resolved the issue then try to claim it under warranty or source replacement parts online.

I need to replace the speed control potentiometer.
Hi there. I know you were looking for an answer 5 months ago. I didn't see the correct procedure listed. My speed control just bit the dust. Anyway, here goes: Pull off the rubber cover where the container sits. You'll see 4 phillips screws, unscrew them (you can leave them in place). Next, on the black drive wheel in the center, look to find a small triangle molded into the outside of the ring. Line it up with a small slotted opening just under the drive wheel. Use a small allen wrench which fits in and unscrews a set screw. You can lift off the drive wheel. Now you have to pull the top off. On mine, it took some time as I was trying to be careful not to break anything. With persistence the top will separate from the base. My super 5000 has a 2 wire speed control knob. Hope this helps if you haven't gotten an answer elsewhere or taken it to the shop.
