The ref. door switch may be at fault.
Flip the switch several times and see if the lights come on.
If so replace the switch.

Also if the grille on top is removeable check and see if the wires to the door switch are disconnected.

That white box is housing a timer and an overload protector. That orange dot isn't a button, it is the center shaft on the timer. If the timer is running it should be turning. Simplest thing to check is the thermostat.

• Unplug fridge
• Open fridge door.
• Thermostat is connected to the temperature dial.
• Remove the one screw about 2 inches behind the temp dial.
• Pull down that plastic cover
• Thermostat has a black, brown, and green wire.
• Disconnect black & brown, and connect them together. This bypasses the thermostat.
• Plug in the fridge. If the compressor turns on the problem is the thermostat
• I took mine out and sprayed it with electrical parts cleaner (can get it at an auto supply store). Don't know if it is fixed for good yet.

Malcolm, if you are indeed getting an F20 fault, this is a problem with the flapper heater. The flapper heater current is low. First, Check the JST in-line connections for the flapper heater. Second, Check the resistance of the heater. If open circuit, replace the heater.

Just had this issue - after checking all line connections, I pulled the ice maker feed water line from the back of the unit and found the tube was blocked with ice. Melted the ice with some hot water, and all is good once more. I would check for this before getting into the solinoid.

It needs refrigerant gas, there isn't enough pressure to cool the whole refrigerant evaporator plate when the liquid gas vaporises to gaseous gas. You need a service call.

You can first start by checking the R134a gas to make sure it is good and the system is not low on gas and if the gas is good then you can check that the system is going is defrosting on time

Check to see if something in your device has shorted to ground that can be causing the problem

Question edited for clarity. It is cutting On and Off due to a device called a Clixon, which is an overheat cut out. Remove the grille at the bottom below the door and you will see the condenser fins. They will be clogged with lint, dirt and dust. Vacuum it all off. You should be able to see through it. Engineers use a degreasing aerosol spray like this
