This sounds very much like the belt is slipping. Belts are not expensive- sorry I do not know how much yours would cost- and are easy to be changed by a competent person:-
REMOVE POWER FROM THE MACHINE AND REMOVE THE BACK.
The motor support bolts should be loosened and the old belt removed. Often putting the new belt on is a bit of a struggle, even with the motor 'loose', because it is new and smaller!
Once on it should be tensioned by pulling the motor against the belt firmly- but not over tight- and the motor support bolts tightened.
ON NO ACCOUNT SHOULD ANY FORM OF LEVERAGE BE USED TO TENSION THE BELT. THAT COULD LEAD TO DAMAGE TO THE BELT, MOTOR AND BEARINGS- EXPENSIVE!
If it turns out to be a worn and inefficient motor, it is false economy to just have the brushes changed. Experience of others is that the brushes may only last months unless, that is, the motor is totally refurbished.

Squeee, It's been more than a year since you posted this so I guess you must know the answer. It sounds like a Visit from an engineer(?) I've got exactly the same problem with a Servis Easilogic 1500 and would appreciate knowing what you had to do to resolve the issue.

depends which program you started with if you started with drain or spin then the humming noise you heard is the pump energised but jammed. remove the filter again and check nothing stuck in the pump impellor - bits of bra wire are the favourites if you started with a wash or rinse program, the humming noise is the inlet valve energised but no water coming thro. check water is turned on and hoses not kinked

problem is probably tjhat liquid detergent has been used - gives a smell loke drains. put on a boil wash without detergent and use powder detergent

Hold power up and start program together for 1 second then it says DoExit

First try a power reset. Disconnect from the wall socket for 30 minutes. Press and hold the power button for 2 minutes. Plug the machine back in. Information in the link suggests you may need a new control board. Hi, Search "ifb error codes" alternatively substitute ariston for ifb.

when I wash heavy stuff it will not spin properly because the weight is not distributed evenly over the load and it stops every time. you may need a repair man unless you can just move the dial to a drain spot rather than spin, if enough water gets out it will probably open then.
