Try CPR in New York City. They are faster than the
manufacturer, and cheaper! They
have a usual turnaround of 1-2 business days. And if you become a fan on their

Here is the link to their facebook page, it has all the info

There's a switch in
the back, the only benefit of using the power button is that it can be turned
back on with the controller. Dont use the switch when your game is saving or
anything is downloading because you could corrupt the saved game/download (I
don't think it'll let you turn it off from the front button when it's writing
to the hard drive- the switch in the back actually cuts off the power.).
Take care.

need to replace your laser. you can get them on ebay easy to fix. just google it. the 40 gig is a 410 but if you take it apart it will say on the laser
Not shut down properly massage and flashing red light?
Sadly there isn't much the average user can do to fix this problem.
It's
hardware related.
You can try powering on the system with the hard drive removed,
but it's VERY rare that will solve your problem.
Check out this
guide
here and this one
here.
Those are DIY guides but
if you're not up for the challenge I would
highly recommend getting the machine fixed direct through Sony.
You can
contact them @ 1-800-345-SONY.
They charge a flat 150 rate for
all repairs.
Best of luck!

The most common reason for the Playstation 3not reading discs is a bad drive. The
following website sells the drives and does installs:
store.richspsxparts.com
This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or
issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the
entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your PlayStation including a new
laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you
can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your PlayStation
going again!
Hope this will help...

When i try to turn on my ps3 it just beeps
Hello,
You can try the steps below. Its from PlayStation Forum:
1.
Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold the power button down; the system
will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been
shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4.
When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will
be prompted to plug in your controller via USB and then hit the PS
button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.
The current Recovery
Menu supports:
• Restart System: Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.
•
Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.
•
Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
•
Rebuild Database: Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.
• Restore
PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
•
System Update: Update the PLAYSTATION®3 System
If the above
steps still does not solve the problem, then I think will have to update
your Ps3.
Update your PS3 (in the settings menu the 1st option).
Go
on the internet browser on the PS3 then go on the menu press triangle
then on one of them there are delete cookies and the delete the others
as
well as cookies.
You could also try this as well: put the
PS3 on then press the eject button (with no disc in) then hold it and
switch the PS3 off at the back with your finger on the eject button
still holding it, then put it back on and the fan test should be working
this may cool it down. It might be over heating.
But if your
problem is not still solved, then maybe you should call sony for further
assistance.
I wish you good luck

Red flashing light
its probably a internal problem, or possibly a harddrive error. try swapping the HDD with somebody elses and see if the red light goes away.
if it doesnt, that means it is an internal problem ( like the motherboard warping) and you have to send it in to sony if you have a warranty. if not itll cost $200 to get it fixed, OR, go here http://www.ylod.net and pay a fraction to learn how to fix it, and it tells you how to step by step so if you wanted to you could start repairing them and make some cash on craigslist or something.

If after trying the

lens is weak and that's why it cannot read any disc.

I wish you good luck.
