I OWN A TRANSCEND pen drive of 8gb when i try to copy or format the command it shows is "cannot create,remove the write protected"what shall i do .the pen drive is very new

Just plug it into the usb of your computer wait for it to install automatically by windows one its finished your done. Just drag and drop or copy any files to from your computer to your flash drive. Don't forget to click "remove safely usb device" on your task bar once your done for safety precautions.

The text is on the USB memory stick? I assume that is what you mean by disc. Check and make sure ther stick isn't locked. Look for something that slides or moves on the stick. Different brands do it a bit differently but usually it is something like that. It could be locked which keeps it from being read.

try loading up a live cd ubuntu to see if its just the os causing it...
also see if its in the device manager at all to see if it might be a wierd case where it isnt mounting right
then check diskmgmt.msc if its showing up in the device manager to try and mount it then format it then you should be good to go
I was using my drive and now it will not work.
all USB flash drives have this issue....they behave very cranky some times....
try on another PC...if ok there..... just reformat it and try here on this PC
WinXP is great...all USB flash drives perform better on XP...if USB2 is used...
but when it comes to Vista and Win7....some times the driver that enables the USB port misbehaves.....

The drive is formatted for PC only. If you want the drive to be compatible with both Mac and Windows, you have to reformat it:
