When i turn my printer
a cleaning kit is given to you at the time of purchasing of this printer. if you lost that, it can be available in any computer shop. use that with the instruction given there. I think your printer can work.

When I select 'CLEAN PRINT HEAD" it shows general
No worries there's a lot of troubleshooting steps to solve your issue. Try the steps below:
You will need a small screwdriver and small flashlight.
1.On rear
of the printer, you will see a small "U" shaped plug or cap, located on
the opposite side of the printer as the power cord. Pry this cover off.
2.
With a small flashlight (preferably one that you can hold in your mouth
in order to aim it and see so you can have free hands.) You will see a
small spindle with that has a brown colored belt around it. This is the
belt that carries the carriage (head) back and forth.
3. Just in
front of this spindle you will see the backside of the head assembly
(probably rectangular in shape). It is black plastic with a few notches
on the edge. Take a screwdriver and try and "gently" pry left and then
right kind of rocking the assembly back and forth (left and right). You
won't be able to actually move it much, the idea here is to just jiggle
it loose.)
4. After you wiggle this assembly a little, remove the screwdriver.
5.
Power on the printer and watch the assembly to see if it moves. If you
were successful you will see it move some to the right then the printer
will go thru some maneuvers and you will get a menu that will allow you
to print, and not the error.
If the printer has set for a while,
the heads may take several cleanings or you may need a new cartridge.
But hopefully, you will no longer have the General Error code.
Good Luck, and remember, not responsible for any damage caused by these instructions.
I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa!
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I have the Epson picturemate
do calibration and test. if no change, try to copy the file you need to print to a card, insert the card in the Epson picturemate and print from its control panel. see if this makes a difference . if it does, then reinstall your printer driver. if it doesn't, then check your ink cartridges. only use original.

I mis-placed the install disk.
Hi,
You can download the individual files from the Epson support website. The installation will be manual unlike the fancy installation of CD.
Click here to open the driver website.
Note that the drivers are for PM - 260 that I have identified as your printer. If the model number is different I can give you another link. There are two driver file and two utilities. You only need one (for 32bit or 64bit system) but you can choose to install both utilities for extra functionality.

My picture mate prints but
When you have replaced the INK cartridge it was necessary to do it with the correct method. I think that the procedure doen was faulty and so it would have reset the software to detect a blank ink pot. So now we must remove off the printer and then uninstall the printer software, Reinstall then the given printer software . After completion of the installation plug in the printer.
now the printer will be detected as a new hardware and will install into the sytem. your printer is now ready and compatable. Now the INk must display correct. Try a test print or use a cleaning on the head before.
If the priner does not print, it ispossible that the head is faulty, maybe when the ink dried out.
hope this helps.

Printer is not printing clearly even with brand new cartridge
My PM 260 has been acting up by only printing only about 1" of the paper and then it will stop feeding the paper. It will eject the paper only if I exit from the computer or turn off the power on the printer and then turn it back to on. I already updated the driver (13488). Should I have it looked at by an Epson certified repair or just buy another one?

I just put a new ink cartridge in and it's
Remove the cartridge
Take a cloth or paper towel and lightly dampen with warm, distilled water.
Fold the towel in half twice and hold in the fingers of one hand
With your other hand, gently "Blot" the cartridge by pressing the printhead into the towel a few times.
Insert the cartridge back in.... Try this!! hope it works!

I have the picture mate personal photo lab and the error code 0x2 comes up when I turn it on and I am not able to do anything else
I had the same error and I could find no information on what it was or how to fix it so I decided to go trial and error. What I found is that this relates to the print head not being able to completely pass from the left to right side during startup. I had a plastic carriage on the one side that was stuck in a position that stop the carriage from make the complete run from side to side. When I forced the plastic carriage down and it clicked into place the error stopped and the printer started up normally with no codes. If anything is causing the print head to not travel completely from left to right during startup, this will probable cause the code. It will be hard to see if the print head is being obstructed if you don't remove the sides. I hope this helps.

Wont read ink cartidrige
first try taking out the cartrage and try uninstalling the printer off your computer then reinstalling it. before putting in your cartrage make sure your computer detects it and your computer should tell you that it detcets no ink then try replacing it. if the problem consists make sure youave the right cartgae for that printer. Then check that nothing (paper, pen, anything) is stuck or jamming the computer blocking the cartage sensors,

Claims new ink cartridge is low...
Hello, at this point I would suggest COMPLETELY uninstall your photo printer, reboot your system and reinstall. Hopefully this helps.
I will tell you though, usually if after running cleaning utilities, the picture still has lines and spaces, could be due to print heads drying up and unable to output the proper amount of ink. This happens alot when people are not using their printer often enough to keep the ink flowing properly.
Recently I had to replace a printer that I had not printed on in like 3 months, the print heads dried up/ clogged up. And the new ink I had just purchased was a waste of money. Had to replace entire printer.
