Hi! Maybe what you're talking about is the 'Autoplay' feature of the computer. Autoplay can be disabled at some times so you cannot see it, or Autoplay only displays a view picture 'icon' when there is/are picture/s on your 2gb sandisk sd card.To manually view your pictures, you can follow this steps:1. I had the same problem. The chip is faulty and should be replaced by the store that you purchased the chip. This is no fault on your part and by the way the chip I had was also 4 GB

I believe the Drive has gone Bad. It does happen where the system thinks th e whole drive is there, but the internal hardware just cannot access it.

Just turn the little switch on the side of the memory chip to the other position and you should be able to write now.

On the actual card, make sure that the "locked-switch" is in the middle. The "lock-switch" is the sliding tab on the side of the micro SD card. The dial should be in the exact middle, or as close to the middle as possible, or the card will read something along the lines of "This data card in encrypted," when inserting the chip into the computer.

Try using a different program to format it. It may then show up.

What kind of Password? Was it encrypted with BitLocker or TrueCrypt? If either, and you don't know the password, you will have to format it (wipe it blank) and start over... Provided its one of the above scenarios. If not, may be able to brute-force it... To format as FAT, put your drive into a USB port; right click on that drive after it appears in My Computer and select Format; set the File System drop-down to FAT (if available) and click Start. You may not have FAT available but you should find FAT32. That should be fine.

Is it possible the switch on the side is in the locked position?

You can try finding it with "my computer", click properties and then check disk for errors.
