I have a MacBook running

Most likely i.m.o. your 4Gb card is a SDHC card. Only a few 4 Gb cards are made as SD in the beginning after they crossed the 2 Gb line. You can't buy them anymore. So to use a 4 Gb ore more, you need a SDHC or better a SDXC reader.

How to remove the virus from my mobile memory card?

Insert your USB drive in the appropriate USB slot in your computer. If the Autoplay dialog box appears, select "Take No Action" and click the "OK" button. Launch your anti-virus program, such as AVG Antivirus or Anti Malware. Select the USB drive for the program to scan. Click the "Start Scan" button or option. Open the scan history for the USB drive when the scan is complete to see a list of viruses and warnings identified by the antivirus software. If desired, select the options to "Heal All Infected Files" or "Move the Infected Files to the Virus Vault" to ensure these files are quarantined from your system. Highlight each infected file in the scan history. Write down the file name of each infected file identified on the USB drive. Minimize the application's window. Select "Run" from the Windows "Start" menu. In the Run window, type "e:/" at the command prompt to switch to your USB drive (or type the drive letter for your USB drive). Press the Enter key. Type "attrib -s -h -r -a *.*" at the command prompt to remove the system, hidden, read-only and archive file attributes. Press the Enter key. Type "del ####.+++" where "####" is the file name of the infected file and "+++" is the file extension, at the command prompt line. Press the Enter key. For example, "del terriblevirus.exe" will specifically delete the Terrible Virus executable file. Repeat for each infected file on your list identified in Step 4. Close the command prompt window; that is, exit the Run utility. Maximize the window for your anti-virus program (which is still open) and repeat Steps 2 to 7 until no virus is detected on your USB drive. Exit the anti-virus application. or Click start click on my computer you should see your usb drive right click then select format. another way is to control panel administrative tools computer management disk management Right Click on your drive select format Hope this helps

I cant move pictures, video,

It sounds like you have not formatted the memory card. To do this:

1. Plug the flash card/drive into computer
2. Open my computer and locate the drive. Should be removable disk by default.
3. Right click and go to format.
4. select the fat32 format which should be default already and click start at the bottom of the popup box.
5. When its done try testing it by moving small files back and forth.

ALSO NOTE: Some memory cards have physicall write/read locks on the bottom of the card. Check this.

I erased all the files

Solution overview: You need to "clean" the SD card by using the clean command in Diskpart and then format the card in Disk Management. This solution will show you how to accomplish this.

1. Plug the SD Card into the computer.

2. Press Win+R to open the Run command.
3. Type "cmd" into the dialog box and press enter to open a command prompt.

4. Type "Diskpart" into the command line of the command prompt to start Diskpart. Wait for Diskpart to load.
5. Type "List Disk" and press enter.
6. Take note of the number of the disk that's associated with your SD card.
7. Type "Select Disk X" where X = the number of the disk that's associated with your SD card and press enter. Make sure the command prompt reports that Disk X is selected.
8. Type "Clean" or "Clean all" and press enter. Clean will be faster but might not solve your problem. If using the clean command doesn't solve your problem, then repeat steps 1-8 and type "Clean all".
9. Wait for Diskpart to complete the cleaning operation - this may take some time so wait until it's completed!
10. Close command prompt.

11. Press Win+R to open the Run command.
12. Type "DISKMGMT.MSC" into the dialog box and press enter. Wait for Disk Manager to load.

13. In Disk Manager, scroll down and select the SD Card.
14. Right click and select "New Simple Volume".
15. Select Next, Assign Drive Letter, and select "Next" again.
16. Select "FAT32" for File System and "Default" for Allocation Unit Size. Fill in whatever you want for the Volume Label. Make sure "Perform quick format" is checked and click OK.
17. Wait for formatting to complete and remove SD card from computer.

18. Plug SD card into camera to see if the problem is solved.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa. Post back if you have any questions or problems.

My PNY Micro Sd card is not working at all

1
Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

I think the maximum size card you can use in the power shot is a 1Gb card unless nes firmware has been istalled to allow 2Gb card.
Using large capacity cards also delays the write recovery time. So if you are trying to capture moving objects , often you get one shot and then it takes almost 20 seconds to recover for the next pic. Too late for most things that move

hope this was of some help

When the flash memory device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Healthy.

You need to format the external drive. Format the drive as primary drive and in FAT32. (FAT32 will allow data to be exchanged between MACs and PCs).
Insert the external hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
