When on "computer" mode I
disconnect the cable at the projector end and plug into a monitor to check that the video signal is enabled on the cable. If it is then reconnect to the projector and select a lower resolution on the pc screen setting. See if anything appears on the projector
I have a nec vt590
If it is a bluish colour then the organic polarizer plate that allows the blue light to pass through it to the blue lcd panel is burnt due to old age.
If the spot is made up of pixel shaped spots rather than a blurred area, then perhaps the lcd panel is faulty, but this is less frequently the case.
You could disconnect the power cable and remove the cover and look at the optics parts to check where any overheated parts can be found.
Then you can be certain which bits to replace.
Another option is to buy a faulty VT590 unit off ebay for a fraction of the price and have a go at swapping the parts between the units.
The lcd panels can be removed and replaced, but require precision alignment and you need the extender cables to be able to do it successfully. So give that a miss, replace the whole lcd prism assembly as one item.

It is not the smartboard, lamp or the computer as well know, it's the projector itself. This may not work but you at least need to try press the auto adjust button on the projector and then adjust the clock/phase in the menu. If not you will need to send in to NEC it could by the color wheel. Usually they have a warranty for a couple of years.

Hi there
The first light status you describe (power green, status flashing green) means that the unit is re-firing the lamp and will start after the lamp is cool enough.
It seems it already did that and then you got power red and status orange flashing. I would like to identify what this combination means but would require you to turn it on so this happens again, and then describe the way the orange status light is blinking, for example, it might blink 0.5 sec on, 0.5 sec off, or it might blink 2.5 sec on, 0.5 sec off). Please confirm.
Can you also confirm the colour of the Lamp light.

NEC projector M322X indicates light but cannot turn on
Based on the information provided, it is possible that there may be an issue with the projector's power button or internal components. It is recommended to try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Check the power source: Ensure that the projector is properly plugged into a working power outlet and that the outlet itself is functioning correctly.
2. Reset the projector: Some projectors have a reset button or option in the settings menu. Try resetting the projector to see if this resolves the issue.
3. Check for internal issues: If the above steps do not work, there may be an issue with the projector's internal components. It is recommended to contact a professional technician or the manufacturer for further assistance.
In summary, if a NEC projector indicates light when plugged into a power source but does not turn on when the power button is pressed, it may be due to issues with the power source, internal components, or other factors. Troubleshooting steps such as checking the power source and resetting the projector may help resolve the issue, but professional assistance may be required if these steps do not work.
NEC NP310 projector, can I replace the fan?
Your statement indicates'there is a fan issue'.
It may just require cleaning but may need replacing. Nothing to do with the lamp, unless it has overheated and also needs replacing.
