Frigidaire pld2850 leaking heating element
You will need to replace those rubber or neoprene seals (washers). Which means you will need to pull the dishwasher out and then tip it back about 45 degrees (or more) so you can work on it. Make sure the power cord is unplugged, then you can find and disconnect the wires that go to the heating element, then remove the heater nuts. Then you can pull the element out and replace those rubber washers (if you can get them - try SearsPartsDirect, or repairclinic.com). If you can't get them separately, you might have to order a complete new element which comes with new washers. If you need further help, reach me via phone at

Dishwasher not draining
I had water at the bottom of my 4 year old plus dishwasher and of course I thought the worst. Did the pump go out, bad impeller, or what else could it be! I started with the easy stuff first and disconnected the drain lines. The drain line runs from the dishwasher to an air gap mounted to my sink, which keeps the drain line from getting an airlock. From the air gap device another larger line runs to the garbage disposal. I used an 8MM wrench to loosen the clamps enough to pull the drain lines off and drained them into a bucket. There really wasn't any resistance to water flow and no real chunks, I was disappointed.
I then took the actual air gap out of the sink by removing a large plastic nut and pulling the devise out from underneath the sink. When I inspected the air gap I saw a wad of hairy, feathery plastic stuff blocking the flow of water. I took the chunk out, reassembled everything and it works like new again.
It is a very easy fix and now even the area under the sink is clean to boot.

Where are the food traps and filters
Good Afternoon Friend,
I understand you want to know where the food traps and filters are located in your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# PLD2850. The inside of the dishwasher is self- cleaning with normal use. If needed, clean around the tub gasket area with a damp cloth. The filter is self- cleaning. A glass trap located in the center of the filter is designed to collect pieces of broken glass, straws, bones and pits. To remove items in glass trap, grasp handle, lift out, empty and replace. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

Cycle Runs Funny
Hi Bill, this is AP
Based on the symptoms you are describing on how your Frigidaire dishwasher, model PLD2850, is performing I would think that your dishwashers control board could be causing this to happen. Your dishwasher should wash without stopping for longer periods of time. Regrettably, this is not a simple DIY job. I would highly recommend reaching out to an expert technician to ensure the appropriate replacement part is ordered and is installed correctly to prevent future issues. I hope this information helps to some degree - thanks for your question, and please do not hesitate to reconnect.
If needed you may use the link below to locate a local authorized technician.

Water wont drain from diswasher
Probably the relay that switches the water flow between "recirculate/clean and exhaust" cycles. You can confirm by opening the bottom panel and looking at the relay arm. When switching from "washing" to emptying cycle, you will see the relay lever try to switch the flow of the water to the exhaust cycle. Alternately, remove the exhaust hose from the garbage disposal and place it in a bucket or bowl. After the water stops coming out, blow into the end of the hose to see if any food is blocking the hose (sometimes someone operates the disposal while the dishwasher is running and forces food into the exhaust hose.
ERROR CODE FRIGDAIRE DISHWASHER
Hi Kurt, I am happy to assist you!
I understand you have an "ER" code displayed on your dishwasher. This code typically indicates a shorted control panel. This can happen by excess moisture getting into the control area. Let your dishwasher dry for 24 hours with no use, and see if the display error code erases itself. If it does not, you may want to connect with a local servicer who will be best equipped to pinpoint the problem. If you don't know a qualified technician, you can use the service locator option on the manufacturer site to find one near you.
Best regards, Chris!
Clean sanitized washing lights flashing
Hello Brian, thank you for your post!
I understand Clean, Sanitized and Washing feature lights are flashing. Let's try resetting your dishwasher. This can be done by either unplugging or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn your dishwasher on. Confirm that the door is securely closed and select a cycle. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, it could potentially mean a number of things: a potential wiring failure, door latch assembly, or control board. At this point, I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose your dishwasher to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.
Best of luck, Chris!

The child lock engaged when a circuit breaker
Hi Gayle, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
When the Child Lock light is on, the control is locked and
no cycles can be selected or started. To de-select the Control Lock, press and
hold the heat dry key or press down on the lock icon for approximately twenty
seconds. If
issue persists, try resetting the dishwasher by either unplugging it or
flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is important to wait
approximately ten minutes and then turn the unit on. Select a cycle and your
dishwasher should resume normal operations. I ask that you please follow
up with a comment on the post, at your convenience to advise if further
troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully.
Thank you.
Won't Fill
Hello Ben - I understand your dishwasher has power but will
not fill with water. Here are a few simple
troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve this issue:
• Make
sure water supply is turned on. (First check for shut off valve under the
kitchen sink)
• Check
the house circuit breaker or fuse box, reset circuit breaker or replace fuse.
• Verify
the inlet hose and make sure it's not twisted.
• Does
float overfill protector (mushroom shaped object in tub) move freely? This is
located in the bottom left front corner of the dishwasher.
• Make
sure the electrical wires going to the water inlet valve have not come off. It
is best to turn off power to the dishwasher before reconnect wires, it doesn't
matter which terminal is off both need to be connected.
• Confirm
that the drain hose is installed correctly. If the drain hose is routed under
the floor as the dishwasher fills water can be drawn from the tub and appear to
have never filled.
• Some
dishwashers use a water pressure switch that will shut off the water valve if
the tub over fills.
If these assessment measures
prove to be ineffective, I would strongly suggest contacting an authorized
service technician who would be better able to assist you in the diagnosis and
repair of your unit. You can often locate an experienced technician in your
area by going to the manufacturer website.
Won't Fill and will attempt to run wash cycle when turned off and door is closed

closed.

These models do not have floats.

way.
Dear Chris Polk: My Frigidaire dish washer does not drain out
I am not able to locate the instructions from the person you have named in your description. Fixya is an open site and any expert can respond to problems. This dishwasher has self cleaning filter. However, if you are looking for location of the filters please refer to
this website and download the owner manual. Refer page 3 and 14 for the details you need.
Water won't drain out
Hello Veronica Spellman - Have you recently cleaned the filter? This can be doing by a glass trap located in the center of the filter designed to collect pieces of broken glass, straws, pits, etc. You should simply be able to grasp handle, lift out, empty and place it back. Also is the unit making a grinding noise? If so, I personally recommend consulting a professional to move forward accurately and assist with the repairs. The dishwasher could possibly have a faulty drain motor/pump.
