My laptop become very slow ...its 1 gb ram and 160 gb harddisk .... which os i should install please advise
You need to upgrad the amount of RAM.
The 4720 notebook is capable of running up to 4GB or ram on 32bit windows 7 OS
The OS requires 1GB of RAM to run.....
Therefore, you only have enough RAM to run window, and no spare ram that should be dedicated to the graphics and other system operations.
Action needed:
Buy 2x 2GB sticks of Kingston ValueRam and run the laptop on 4GB. It will be much faster than what is needed and should provide fast computer responce.

How to bypass password request when pressing f2 on an acer 4720?

Follow this advice but you have to be careful because it may create further damage....
The simplest way to remove a BIOS password is to simply remove the CMOS battery. A computer will remember its settings and keep the time even when it is turned off and unplugged because these parts are powered by small battery inside the computer called a CMOS battery. If we pull out this battery, the computer will forget alot of its hardware settings, including its BIOS password. This should not be performed on Laptops if you are not experienced working with laptop hardware.
Make sure to power down the computer, unplug the power cables . The computer must not be able to get power from anywhere for this to work. Take out the CMOS battery and wait 5 - 10minutes before putting it back in. The reason for this wait is because the computer can still store power in its capacitors even though everything is unplugged. The waiting period allows enough time for them to discharge.
Plug everything back in, power up the computer and enter the BIOS again. If everything went well there should be no more password. In some cases, if you get weird error messages during bootup now, you will need to goto "Load BIOS Defaults" in BIOS and save the changes to fix them.

Why my acer aspire say system not found
The system cannot detect the hard disk drive. Before you start up, re insert the hard disk. Remove the memory card and clean it with soft cloth or tissue paper. After doing these..Start up your computer and see the results. If nothing happens, restart your laptop, hit F12 key & set the hard disk drive to first boot device then press the Enter key. wait till the OS comes up.
What should I do
no, u have to format the hdd on another system with using of external hdd connector. and format it with fat32. it will work.

Acer Aspire 4720z will not boot at all bkack screen no sounds
Isolate possible problems one by one.
1. Check power adaptor if LED is on. If on, it "might" be working. The wire from the power adaptor might be problematic but we have no way of checking this unless you disassemble the power adaptor and test it for continuity.
2. If power adaptor is ok, take out the battery and connect power adaptor to unit. Turn on laptop. Indicator LED on the unit near the infrared port on the front of the unit should light up.
3. If power is not the problem, unplug unit.
4. Open back panel and try cleaning the memory modules. Take them out and rub rubber eraser on the modules' connectors.
5. If it still doesn't boot up, bring to qualified service personnel. The motherboard may be problematic.
I cant load any updated and the computer says that it is misplaced or deleated what do i do to fix this
Turn off computer for 5 minutes. Turn on computer and let it boot to desktop. Click on START, click on COMPUTER, right click on C drive. Panel will indicate PROPERTIES at the bottom of this panel. Click on it. Look at the top of this next panel and click on TOOLS. Do a clean up.. Then under tools click on the 1st of 3 options shown. Check both boxes. Wait another panel will come up saying it will perform this function on next restart. Click OK. Restart/reboot computer, wait for all 5 steps of this program to complete. The boot procedure will continue when this is complete.
Need a harddrive and bios removal
Order a hard drive from amazon and restore disks from Acer then remove the cmos battery and regular battery from laptop then hold thepower button down for 30 seconds while the batteries are out to drain the capacitors. reinsert batteries and power on bios should be reset and you can use your restore disks to reload the computer
