Try Control Panel/Add hardware, have Windows search for new hardware. It will "search for new hardware that has been connected recently but not installed". Choose 'yes I have already connected...'. It will display a list of hardware that is on your laptop; search down the list until you find your wireless adapter. Highlight it, click next. I am betting that the "hardware is installed but has a problem"; it is probably disabled. It will prompt you to open a troubleshooter that will allow you to enable the wireless.

try holding down shift and pressing it. if the < symbol shows then you have another issue. if the symbol does not show and no other keys are affected then you need a new keyboard

I have gateway mx7118 and my screen went dim when power on. I connected to a external monitor and no pic on the monitor.Could the problem be I need to replace the LCD invertor?

If it's under warranty I would send it to the company to fix. If not then you have to take the mouse buttons off and put a really small spring in it or take it to the local computer repair and let them do it if you don't want to mess it up

The DVD player may be set to a Region that does not match the Region code on the DVDs.
To changethe Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware -Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVDdrive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have beenmade.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the4th change.
If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmwareto make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrongfirmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece ofsoftware that allows you to play DVDs from any region. There are severalavailable on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free From: -

reinstall webcam driver for your windows system. drivers are different for windows systems.

I'll give you some simple solutions...

(i) Juz connect to external monitor, if it working fine surely it is the problem with the LCD.

(ii) Plz make sure that the configuration support this game.

(iii) The last option is repair / re-install the operating system, coz while you tried force shut down, the system files may corrupted...

Chances are that its overheating and turning itself off in order to save itself from CERTAIN DEATH!! Dun dun dunnnnnn!!

But seriously that is most likely the case. First thing to check is if the fans are working in it. If not make sure they are not clogged with dust, pet hair, or something of the same nature (Dental floss?) If you have no clogs and the fans are working then the heat sink on the CPU may have became dislodged (I worked at a PC repair shop and had this happen before) and the only way to check that is to take the laptop apart. If you are uncomfortable doing that then the best thing to do is take it to a local shop.
