I too have this bassinet and went looking online for a 'how to' on removing to wash. What I found was the manual, I will post the link below. In the manual it does say that the fabric cannot be removed from the canopy frame.

Put the metal frame on the board - then turn them upside down. The skirt has four slits - where the knobs on the bottom of the board come through - pull the material tautly while snapping on buttons.

It's easy. Hold the main skirt fabric and drop the pressboard support into the bottom with the feet/nubs down away from the inside. Now the metal frame drops in and next slide the hinged U supports outward. This raises the edges and gives height to the bassinet. The U supports either lock under a plastic clasp on the pressboard or sit into holes on the board. Now button down all the buttons around the interior. Set it back on the frame and snap the bassinet to frame snaps on. Add the hood and baby's new, clean bed is ready for a lullaby.
