Canon Pixma MP470, paper feed not straight
Hi Dave
First thing to check is that the left hand paper guide (as you look at the printer from the front) is up tight against the edge of the paper stack in the feeder. I've seen many printers where (over the course of day to day use) the paper guide has progressively moved itself to the left so that the paper is not held at all. The pick-up for the paper is at the bottom right hand corner and if the guide is loose the paper can skew as it goes in - and then it only gets worse.
Another possibility (and this has just happened to me) is that the long piece of sponge that runs the length of the platen (you'll only see it if you open the top and shine a light in) has come adrift slightly. Mine actually came completely out after 2 or three skewed/crumpled sheets. I washed it, dried it out with kitchen towel and then carefully refitted it. Now the printer is running like a demon.
Let us know what your outcome is.
How do i fix error code 5100
Hi You can Try
Error Code 5100
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.
Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .
And Also
Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

My printer keeps saying "print head is not
Hello, Jordanreinha -
You will need to install a color cartridge, too.
Oddly enough, with color printers, both the black and color ink/s are used to print black. Go figure?
Best wishes.

It means that not all contacts are working.
1. Try this first - unplug the printer for a minute from the power supply and then replug.
2. Make sure you have removed ALL packaging materials from the printer. Details can be found
here3. Try to reseat the ink cartridge. Details

Printing is fuzzy.
try doing head alignment, this feature is located under the printer properties... goto Start, then Setting, then Printer and faxes, and point to the printer model, right click and select Properties... then select Maintenance and from there, you can clean head and head alignment... print the alignment sheet and select the best straight line.. that should help.
