Ice maker does not work
The simple and most expensive solution is to replace the ice maker assembly. They sell for between 50 bux on e-bay to 150 bucks at Sears. From what I have seen most ice makers fit the same category and they look like they are all designed and built by the same company!!
The main problem is the gear on the backside of the unit snaps off for various reasons like ice cubes getting stuck and causing the ejector rake to jam, thus overloading the flimsy gear and snapping it off. You can not purchase the gear however you can choose to buy a gear-head assembly for 80 or so bux.

I repaired the broken gear on mine using some structural epoxy. Here is a pic of the repair in progress, The green stuff in the center of the gear is the epoxy I used. Good Luck!!

Our refrigerator/freezer will stop working (not cool or freeze) then days later will begin to work again.
It's either the start device on the compressor or you have a bad compressor. You'll have to pull it away from the wall and take the bottom back panel off to check the compressor. It will likely be real hot to the touch from what you described happening. If there is a little white colored box on the left side take that off and remove the wires, etc. and shake it... if it rattles and debris falls out then that's the problem. It's fairly common and they make a kit to replace it with a better designed part that's real easy to install yourself. If your compressor has a label on it with a blue indian head symbol, then you're out of luck as that brand pretty much sucks and is destroyed by heat. It would mean a new compressor and then you'd be lucky if the new one even worked from the factory. Avoid those Tecumseh compressors at all cost.
Describe your frigidaire frs23f5a freezer
With ours it is ice collection on the fan in the freezer section. This is located about half way down under the icemaker (please unplug to proceed). If you remove the four hex head screws and lift up the metal flap you will find the fan assemble and most likely the ice build up to chip off.
My fridge is about 2
Check the water passing line.Is it properly connected to water dispenser .If the water line is got bit loose then water will not pass to the water dispenser. But as you mentioned that it works in between,so if the water line is loose then it will not work for a day also. But still to confirm the problem check it.if that checks out OK then check the Water line.if its got clogged due to ice got collected in the line.this problem is seen many times.the ice gets into the water line which enters the water dispenser and due to this the water stops and does not dispense. This ice melts after few days(You can say day or two)Then again your dispenser starts working.but again the ice gets into line and it stops.so this cycle continues ,so check the water line mostly at the back of the refrigerator then getting connected to dispenser. If ice is collected in the line, then turn the unit OFF.Then take a hair dryer and blow on line, melt all the ice which got collected and check the ice dispenser back,There must be also the ice.Melt that ice also. Then see the water dispenser will work. But if in case there is no ice then the problem relates to water inlet valve. The water valve consists of 2 parts. The valve and solenoid. This are controlled by main circuit board of the refrigerator. If this water valve or solenoid ids got faulty then water as well as ice dispenser will work intermittently.then suddenly it will work properly then again stop without any reason. As you said the unit is just 2 months old.so check if the company/service center of Frigidaire is giving any help.Because this units have 1 year warranty on all parts and compressor has 5 year warranty. But they say if you void the warranty then they will not help.So get the warranty issues cleared by the company too before processing yourself.
Also if the company is telling that they will send their tech after 2 or 3 days.then there is a temporary manual defrost reset procedure.Try that too.unplug the unit from power outlet. empty all the food stuff from the unit completely. keep both the doors open.let it re,main for 24 hours then recheck after connecting the unit.it will take 3 -4 hours more to come in flow after you reconnect the power to unit.set the temperature to normal settings.

MY REFRI LEAKING ALOT WATER
Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Actually the leaking water is from the evaporator coil unit.... Under normal conditions,Self-defrost refrigerators usually dispose the water generated during the defrost cycle through a tube or channel that directs the water a pan (Known as Drip pan), commonly below the refrigerator unit....
The channel or tube is clogged and the water is leaking to the refrigerator unit, so you need to clear that contamination....Once the blockage is removed, the generated water will move through that channel/tube directly to the drip pan and there will no water on the top shelf in the refrigerator compartment. Another cause may be the refrigerator may have doorframe heaters to evaporate any condensation on the cabinet frame. If your refrigerator is equipped with a switch inside that says “energy saver” or something like that, while running in that mode the door heaters are disabled. Turn the switch to the opposite setting and wait 24 hours. If the water disappears the problem is solved.
Best of Luck,
