The simple and most expensive solution is to replace the ice maker assembly. They sell for between 50 bux on e-bay to 150 bucks at Sears. From what I have seen most ice makers fit the same category and they look like they are all designed and built by the same company!!

The main problem is the gear on the backside of the unit snaps off for various reasons like ice cubes getting stuck and causing the ejector rake to jam, thus overloading the flimsy gear and snapping it off. You can not purchase the gear however you can choose to buy a gear-head assembly for 80 or so bux.

I repaired the broken gear on mine using some structural epoxy. Here is a pic of the repair in progress, The green stuff in the center of the gear is the epoxy I used. Good Luck!!

there is a metal rod that sticks out the back of the ice maker bin, it has a spring around it. it needs to fit into hole in the back of the fridge.

i would change filter and see if it takes.if not then your water valve could be bad.if you hear it humming it should be calling for water.also check lines to water valve to see if their are any dry rotted spots,you will have to pull ref. out and take back cover off and you will see the valve.the tubing is what you want to check.have someone push for water and see if their is a leak,but try filter first.

Did you clean the surfaces thoroughly and glue it down with white or clear silicone, then leave it to cure? also was it an OEM replacement or an Amazon special as the quality is different.
