Hi everyone! Please for the love of God stop slamming your phones shut to fix this. The problem is that the metal contacts which tell the phone that it is open become dirty after years of use. It is a somewhat flawed design which allows dirt to fall inside the phone. To fix it, just remove the screws from the back behind the battery cover and *genty* pry the back from the rest of the phone. Now, if you look at where the screen connects, on one side you will see a wire going in and on the other side you will see a copper contact that touches the hinge on the screen. This is what you need to clean. Get some solvent (electronics cleaner from radio shack works well) and some canned air. First blow it out with air, then hit it with solvent, then blow it out with air again. Reassemble and problem solved!

Hello a simple thing to do is clean the speakers and mic on the phone. Use a toothbrush it helps to get the dirt stuck in the mic out. It cannot be cleaned or repaired, the flex cable must be replaced. This is a very difficult task as the entire phone needs to be disassembled. There are many small parts to deal with not to mention your new flex cable is very fragile and can be easily damaged in the installation process. Its best to have a tech handle this one unless you are very brave....... lol

It is the flex ribbon. It can be purchased on E-bay for about 8 dollars, but is very difficult to replace. Unless you are very good at working with small parts, it is better to have a tech do it. The flex ribbon is fragile and is easily damaged...

LG knows about bluetooth issues with this phone and it needs to be returnedto LG for an update to main card, I got mine back today - see your wireless carrier to get it done!

The problem is from the flex that connects your screen to the phone's main board. This flex must have worn out that's why your screen is not displaying any picture.
This is a common problem with flip and slide phones. The flex gets worn out as a result of constant opening and close of the flip or slide phone.
I will suggest you replace the flex on the screen of your phone to solve the problem.
If you cannot change the flex yourself, you can take the phone to a local repairer within your vicinity, so that the flex can be fixed or replaced.

I purchased an lg glimmer ux8300 on Dec 27 th from ebay it does not have service yet but nothing was wrong I was able to get into everything until I accidentaly pushed the locked button and now it is asking for some unlocke code . What do I do?

That batt is almost dead, had a similar problem. No tricks just replace it. Or try charging using a universal charge where you remove the batt and charge it seperately

You must have received the PC suite CDs. Its contains the Drivers for your CellPhone. Install it and you will be able to transfer your data properly...

And if you haven't got the CD then download it from the LG website.

I have same problem, as if the Power button is squished since it likes to shut off randomly. When I squeeze the sides of the phone to 'raise' the button of the contact point, it works again, as well as lights the keypad.

Store said hardware issue and would fix it but money better spent towards a new phone...
