Frigidaire FMV156DC Microwave Oven - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I have microwave model fmv156dcg.
After
If you have a smoker in the house, the display may be coated with tar from the smoke. Spray some window cleaner on a soft cloth or paper towel, and gently wipe off the display face (do not scrub; it scratches easily).
The power supply capacitor on the controller board may be going bad. Unplug the oven, remove the top/side cover, and inspect the electrolytic capacitors. The tops should be flat; if any are domed or obviously leaking, they should be replaced (note: sometimes the top of the capacitor has a thin plastic disc covering it; doming of the disc is normal). See the photo below to identify good and bad electrolytic capacitors. This photo is from a TV or computer power supply and your controller will not look this. You're looking for components like bad ones marked in the photo or the good ones next to it. If you see a bad capacitor, post a comment with the capacitance (e. g., 2200 uF) and voltage rating, and I'll recommend a part number that I know will be a good replacement. The cost is usually under $2 plus shipping from whatever supplier you choose.
It is possible that the display itself is going bad, but this is not very common.

Frigidaire Microwave Plastic on KeyPad
Many are shipped with a protective sheet over just the keypad. Your owner's manual should address that if it needs to be removed upon delivery.
If not, then the keypad itself may be worn.
If it all works, and does not do come on or do anything by itself (which poses a fire hazard) then it may just be wear.
No action is necessary until some pads fail to activate or the oven comes on or does anything by itself. Then repair is necessary.
At that time post a new help request with the full model number from the tag on the oven (not the manual) and exact symptoms - what it's doing or not doing, and when.

I need to change the interior light bulb in my Frigidaire over the counter microwave. The model # is FMV156DCA.
Good Morning Evelyn, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
Here are some simple troubleshooting tips to help replace the light bulb on your Frigidaire microwave, FMV156DCA.
·First, disconnect power to your microwave. This can be done by either unplugging it or at the circuit breaker panel.
·To release cover, remove the screw on the light cover (light cover may become very hot, do not touch glass when light is on).
·Remove old light bulb and replace only with equivalent watt bulb available from parts distributor or the manufacturer directly. Bulbs are also available at most hardware stores or lighting centers. Bulbs larger than 30 watts are NOT recommended.
·Close light cover and secure with screw removed in step 2.
I hope this information proves to be helpful. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reconnect.

My fridgedaire brand microwave turns on but it
Good Morning Bill, thank you for your inquiry! Please make
sure the appliance is NOT plugged into GFI outlet. Let's try resetting the
microwave by either flipping the household circuit breaker off or by
unplugging. It is important to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn the unit
on. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, you appliance could be
experiencing the following: faulty power supply, control panel, or magnetron. I am fairly confident that an authorized service agent
will be able to restore your appliance to its normal operating condition. You
can often locate a qualified service technician on the manufacturer website. Thank
you for allowing me to assist you in a small way.
