Are there batteries in the Jheri Redding cordless hair trimmer model JRK0691?

Question edited for clarity Question moved from Cars and Trucks Category. This is a 50 year old trimmer brought out in 1971 ish. There will be a nickel cadmium battery in it which will be well past its best. You can replace it if you can find a way to get inside it. The brand is owned by Conair, so you can ask if they will change the battery for you? I am sure they will say it is obsolete. If you can get inside it, you can get all replacement batteries from www.batterybuyer.com Also, it is entirely possible that the motor has failed, so before replacing the battery, you need to test it with some type of external battery source. https://www.google.com/search?q=jherri+redding+JRK0691+replace+battery ..

Just twist and pull backward on the tip where the seam is. It does kind of feel like you're going to break it, but it won't--it is made to snap off like this.

Conair beard trimmer: took screw out and can't

After removing the screw you must place your thumb on the battery cover (just below the screw where the 5 raised lines are) and slide the cover downward. The battery in this unit is soldered in. You may have to take it to a repair center to get the battery changed. The battery is a D-Sc type 1600mAh 1.2V. Good luck finding one. I thought the battery in my trimmer was bad after it sat idle for about 8 years. Turns out a little light sewing machine oil on the cutter head made it spring back to life.

The settings 1-10 are for wet and easy-to straighten hair. Like hair that is a little thinner or almost straight.
The settings 11-17 are for damp hair that is about average thickness.
The settings 18-23 are for hair that is thick or wavy.
Lastly, the settings 24-30 are for dry hair that is harder to straighten.

So, the higher up you go, the higher the difficulty the hair is.
Hope this helps! :]
