Why burner on light on stove wont come off

After stove is turned off, the light stays on if burner still warm. If the burner never came on, then it needs to be replaced with new one.

I have a Jenn Air

If the light circle around the knob stayed on, then you have the same problem I just had. I purchased a OEM replacement switch via ebay for $38. Very simple replacement, but take your time so you understand how it works. It took an hour to install and works fine now. Here is the link to the parts list:shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Repair Part List - CCE3401B.pdfIf you can, take pictures with your phone of how everything is assembled before you take it apart. It will save you hours of aggravation.I must say, Jenn-Aire (Whirlpool Corp) was less than helpful. I asked for some advice prior to purchasing the replacement part and all they would tell me is they were willing to schedule an authorized repair shop to come over. The closest was a 2.5 hour drive each way, and the travel time cost was $85/hour. Plus the part at list price ($90 something) and installation was going to cost $600. Give me a break.

Kitchenaid 36" glass cooktop with small crack

A small crack, turns into a big crack, Short of ordering a new piece of glass, there is no "fix" sorry. YOu can continue to use it, but eventually it will run across the cook top, and then shatter the glass... Better be safe than sorry.

How do I clean my new electric Jenn-air cooktop

  • Step 1 Wipe up spills as soon as they happen with a clean dry towel. According to the Jenn-Air website, for glass top cooking surfaces, you should do this even if it is hot since it will be harder to clean up later. Be careful not to get burned.
  • Step 2 Use a cooktop cleaner once it is cool. You can also use dishwashing detergent and water or just a baking soda paste (made with water).
  • Step 3 Apply the cleaner to a sponge, cloth or paper towel. For more stubborn stains, you can use a non-abrasive or "scratchless" pad.
  • Step 4 Rub the soiled areas until clean. Rinse well, especially if you used the baking soda paste as that can leave a residue.
  • Step 5 Use a razor blade for burned on and crusty stains that will not come off using the previous methods. Jenn-Air states to hold it at a 30-degree angle to carefully remove the stain.

  • Or you can use this on the link below.

Jenn-Air CCE3401 wire the knobs in the off

    Hi.

If the hood trips the circuit breaker then there is a short. Checking the wires visually is not enough to say that there is no short. Testing is done using a multimeter tool set on impedance (it will read Ohms).

If there is a short between two wires, then the multimeter will read zero impedance (impedance
If the unit trips with fan selector knob in off position, then the short is either at the power cord, at the knob contacts, or because of wiring with heat melting insulation . If possible reach the power cord and test it. The power cord can be tested reading impedance at its plug's prongs. If the prongs read low impedance , then the cord is shorted (zero ohms between two AC plug prongs means that there is contact between wires of different phase). If there is zero Ohms, then there is a short. If the power cord is OK, read starting from the switch side between switch 120VAC and one ground point. If there is low impedance, then the short is back going toward the power socket. Do that until you find the short.

If the unit trips with fan selector on test the knob. Read if there is zero Ohms between knob contacts (usually between its contacts but check also switch contacts). In that case the motor is shorted because of a contact and must be replaced. Other test is done disconnecting and insulating knob contacts and starting the unit. Check also the dual burner switch.

If the unit trips with burner OFF, then the problem is before the switch. Usually power cord or power cord contacts.

Here all parts and diagrams for this unit.

    Regards.

Hi, you may have a short in the line that feeds the electricity to the burners. The oven and the stovetop are probably fed through separate electrical wires. The thermostat may also be faulty or the element is probably bad. Unless you know something about electrical wiring, it might not be wise to attempt to fix it on your own.

    I have a Jenn-Air CCE3401 Electric Cooktop I want

Firstly turn the power off. Lift the cooktop out from the benchtop and lean it against the wall. There will be a small panel where the wiring terminates into the cooktop. Remove the panel and disconnect the wiring to the cooktop. Ensure that you insulate all wires properly. You can then turn the power back on if you need to.

    Spots are appearing on the

    Hi,

There are few things that you could try to lighten the spots.

    Save With Common Cleaners
Use Baking soda to clean satins from tile, glass, and china; clean inside fridge; remove baked on food from pots and pans.

    Cream of tartar.

aAmild acid that can lift stains from sinks and tubs, and remove spots from aluminum cookware.

    Lemon Juice
Lightens stains and removes tarnish from brass, copper, bronze and aluminum.

    White Vinager
Helps kill germs; removes some carpet stains; cleans coffee makers and chrome.
To clean wood floors, use 1 cup of vinegar per pail of water.

The best way to remove the burn spots is to use a razor blade and scrape it off. However, as you have tried that, follow the above tricks and see, if that helps.I have another option for you. Go to your local grocery store and buy a canister of Barkeepers friend. This is amazing at getting out any kind of stain you may have.Try this as well. It works on couple of occasions for me.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
