How do you clean white top

You can use oven cleaner. Read the label and find the part about cool cleaning or over night cleaning. I have cleaned up pyrex casserole dishes that I sort of over baked. Wipes right out the next morning.

Switch remains red after unit is turned off

The reason why the switch is still red after it is turned off is to let you know the surface is still hot. When the surface cools down it will go off. It is a safety feature that is built in to the top.

Good Luck and please rate 4 thumbs for the free answer.

One of the four burners does not work. The light

Yes, you have a bad burner, sensor, burner switch, or wiring problem. The most likely is the burner switch. You should get this repaired asap, as this could be shorting out inside, and cause an electrical shock hazard. Unlikely but enough of a possibility that you should fix it soon.

Front burner won't come on. Others fine. Have

Sorry but no. If you have a burner not working it will be 1 of 2 things. 1st the switch that controls that burner is bad which would be the easiest and less expensive to replace. The other is the element. Good luck but I really do feel it will be the switch.

One of the knobs will not turn at all in either

The picture shows a drop in glass cook top (electric) You have to pull the top, disassemble it from the bottom and replace the switch. Most switches have five wires on them L1 L2 which are your hot 240v, h1 h2 which go to the burner(dual burner switch has h3 h4), and p is the pilot. Terminals are marked, just change one wire as you go or mark the wires as you change the part. Make sure your house breaker is off, no power to unit when working on it . Be careful of the glass top when working on it

All 4 elements suddenly won't heat.

Likely a short in the junction box. Turn off the breaker and open the junction box for inspection. Problem is likely at the cooktop end of the feed from the breaker.

Check voltage at the junction. Should one side of the corcuit be dead, turn off power and call an electrician as the wiring probably has had a short due to staple or nail penetration and would be a fir hazard. Call an electrician if this is the case.

New granite countertops big circle spots on.

They suggested a dryer because they thought the stone had absorbed a liquid and was causing the stone to darken. This is common on unsealed granite. If you put a sealer on the counter tops however, whatever it is you see there will remain under the seal. I would ask the installer to come out and take a look at it. If they are unwilling, the Home Depot has a cleaning kit sold in the kitchen counters area of the store made by a company you can call and they will ask questions about the problem and provide advice on how to fix it. They are extremely helpful with free suggestions as well as stuff you may be able to purchase to fix the problems. In any case, granite is sensitive stuff and while it is physically durable it seems to be extremely sensitive to stain and etching and learning about proper care, cleaning, and dos and dont's will save a lot of heart ache and time for you down the road. (For instance oil absorbing into the stone is a several day ordeal to fix). Good luck with getting the results you want. If you did find a specific solution please share it here.

Was cooking fudge-hot sugary liquid boiled over

Maybe try white vinegar - apparently you can clean glass hobs with it & it might help dissolve the fudge stuff if you pour it on that. I wouldn't use a razor as you might damage the hob more.

No heat to all elements

VERIFY that ALL voltages are present. The power CAN appear to be getting there, but one side of the 240 volt line could be open and indicators SEEM to work but nothing will operate.

How do I replace the switch for a jennair electric

You first need to remove the unit from its installation. Start by disconnecting the exhaust fan from the ductwork. Then push the cooktop up.

To get at the switch you need to remove the top by taking off only the top row of screws all around the unit and also at the top of the down draft cavity (the down draft cavity is where the grease guard mesh is)
