The amount of coolant is included on the compressor label.
Once reading the label, perform a vacuum test for 15 minutes and if it holds with no leaks, refil to the correct weight of coolant and seal.
Much depends in the unknown MODEL number, but it will either be lack of refrigerant gas or the freezer evaporator is frozen over because the defrost timer or defrost heater has failed.
The internal fans just circulate the air. The more important one is the one on the condenser, but you don't say which fan is running?
..
Because the condenser coils are dirty, it overheated and went into a false defrost mode. After cleaning, remove the mains plug for 15 minutes and then plug it back in. It should now be reset. Also check the circulation fan is working inside. I worked with these as a chef for the last 16 years of my career.

Are you looking to optimize the performance of your refrigerator? Follow these tips to ensure your appliance runs efficiently, keeping your food fresh and energy costs down:
1. **Temperature Control:** Set your refrigerator to the recommended temperature (usually around 37°F or 3°C) and the freezer at 0°F or -18°C. This ensures optimal food preservation without unnecessary energy consumption.
2. **Proper Organization:** Arrange food items strategically to allow for proper air circulation. This not only helps maintain consistent temperatures but also makes it easier to find items, reducing the time the door is open.
3. **Regular Cleaning:** Keep the coils and vents clean to promote efficient heat exchange. Dust and debris can accumulate over time, forcing the refrigerator to work harder to maintain the desired temperature.
4. **Check Door Seals:** Ensure that the door seals are tight and free from cracks. A proper seal prevents cold air from escaping and warm air from entering, helping your refrigerator maintain its set temperature.
5. **Avoid Overloading:** While refrigerators are designed to hold a significant amount of food, overloading can impede airflow and make the compressor work harder. Maintain a balanced and organized interior.
6. **Energy-Saving Mode:** If your refrigerator has an energy-saving mode, consider activating it. This feature adjusts the appliance's operation to conserve energy during periods of lower usage.
By incorporating these tips into your refrigerator maintenance routine, you can enjoy a more efficient appliance, lower energy bills, and longer-lasting freshness for your stored goods. Normally the higher the number selected on the rotary knob, the colder the frezer will go, assuming there is not a problem with the compressor or coolant pressure.
Pungent smells inside can usually be removed with EITHER Chlorine Bleach OR Hydrogen Peroxide, but NOT together. Or Tilex is great for mold.
Also pull the whole thing out and look for deceased rodents or food that has been dropped behind it.

Blinking or flashing is normally indicative that you fridge is more modern and has an LED Light instead of a standard incandescent screw-in bulb. If that is the case, the whole LED light and Module needs replacing.
