The problem is more than likely that your bin sensors have calcium or scale on them. There are two on that model...one on each side of the evaporator plates. Remove the bin top and look for a nylon screw next to the plates...these hold the bin sensors in place. Lift the sensors up and scrub with a descaler solution. If none is available use 2 tbsp of bleach in one gallon water. replace the sensors and give it another try. If it shuts off again just replace the bin sensors.

Hi, first make sure the switch is not in the clean position but to on. If it is in the on position and the water is circulating over evaporator plate and is running back into the water sump tray and compressor is running as you stated then check to make sure the hot gas valve is not letting hot gas leak through during freeze cycle, the way you can check is after start up wait about 5 minutes and check the temp entering the hot gas valve and the temp on the other side of the valve if temp is the same then valve is bad. The next thing to check is the refrigerant level this only can be done by adding service valves and weighing out the charge to see if it is low, if low then there is a leak. The freeze cycle is as follows. The compressor, fan motor and water pump are all operating and stay in a freeze cycle until the evaporator thermistor reaches 6.5 deg F. That signals the control board to place the unit into a harvest cycle.

Ok did you damage the bin thermostat cap tube? The bin thermostat is what tells the unit the bin is full if so replace it.

whats the complete model# of ice maker. condensers are usually on the roof or ground. they do make them in water cooled in that case there is no condenser

If the machines ice storage capacity is 26 lb per a day then that is all it will make in a 24 hr day Now this depends on water temp entering the machine, the ambient temperature around the machine and the condenser coil and fan is not dirty. Now the machine is capable of making 33 lb of ice in a 24 hour day but the storage bin capacity is only 26 lb if you don't remove any ice it will make only around 26 lb and shut off until it melts and causes the ice maker head to start.

Replace the bin thermostat.

Why would you wont to change the freon? It would cost more to convert one freon over to another than you could buy another ice maker for. You cant just change freon over from one type to another. You would have to change the compressor, the TXV, all dryers, Make sure you have removed all the oil from the system that is trapped. Now if it is low and you are wanting to charge it back up then you need to find the leak and repair it first.Refrigerants do not deplete them selves so if it is low than you either have a leek or if you keep putting gauges on it then you loose some charge every time you do this. So if you have no experience with a refrigerant system i would call a service company.

Remove the plug in the right rear that connects the circulation pump, test for 110V voltage at the plug ramaining in the bracket, this machine was made by whirlpool for Scotsman, usually after a clean is done with the solution, it's very common that the circulation pump mecahanically fails. Either the impeller has slid up on the shaft, or the steel plate has rusted and caused an alignment issue with the shaft. You will most likely need a replacement pump, Scotsman part# 02217220. do you mean drain pump? if so is there water standing in the bin? unstop the drain if not then replace the pump.

Is the machine producing ice thick enough to come off the evaporator plate? the machine will try to harvest 3 times before it locks out on long harvest. Harvest cycle: The compressor and hot gas valve are both powered during the harvest cycle. The fan and pump are off at this time. The machine stays in the harvest cycle until the evaporator thermistor senses 52 DEG F. If the bin is not full, the unit goes into another freeze cycle. I would check the Thermistor

Do you know if it is pumping down? you need to put a set of charging valves on it and hook up refrigerant gauges to make sure this is what is happening if unit is pumping down then you need to look for a restriction. but before i did that i would check to make sure the hot gas valve is not bypassing during freeze cycle check the temp of the line entering the valve and the temp exiting the valve if both temps is the same then replace the valve.this valve should only be opening during harvest mode. if it is good then check refrigerant to make sure it is ok.

Is the bin drain line and dump drain line tied together. If so then it is melting ice from the bin. now when ice machine starts up it will dump the old water in sump tray so it will be fresh water during new freeze cycle.
