All of a sudden the ice maker started to make a grinding noise. The noise stops when the door is open and light on, but once the door is closed or the little button inside the freezer is pressd to indicate the door is closed, the noise starts again. The noise sounds like a creaky door slowly opening. Not sure why it's doing this, but would like to know how to fix it. We took the ice bucket out and made sure everything was lined up. We also adjusted the auger driver and that didn't fix the problem either. The fridge is only 1 1/2 years old. Help! Mine is the Jenn Air JCD2389GES , 3 years old and giving noises when we set the front panel to ice making mode. It is a continous ratle noise in the position of making ice or not ( up or down).Any help to solve this annoyance ?
I was able to solve this problem by doing the following:
1) Carefully (because there may be sharp metal blades in this area) reached into the upper left compartment of the icemaker and pressed down on ice cubes that seemed to be lodged there and were protruding slightly above the slots they should have been passing through.
2) Press down on the cubes, forcing them through the slots and into the cube container below
3) Lift the metal arm, remove and completely empty the ice cube container
4) Return the ice cube container to the freezer, making sure it is seated properly
Close the freezer and wait until the ice cube maker begins to make new ice cubes. The sound should stop in around 10-15minutes.

My Jenn Air refrig model # JCD2389GES is not cooling on the refrigerator side but is fine on the freezer side. This happened two months ago for two days then it was fine when I came home one night. I do not know where the damper is nor the computer board; help please. Thanks,
Well guess what. Jenn Air / Maytag now has this issue as a recall. So just call them and tell them the fridge is not cooling. They will schedule a recall service appointment. Do be sure they schedule it as a "recall" service appointment or you will be charged.
That sure beats pulling out the hair dryer every time it happens!
Service number is 1-800-462-9824
Good luck

How do i reset the waterfilter light
WATER FILTER CHANGE REMINDER (Select Models) For some refrigerator models featuring water filters, the Water Filter Change Reminder function monitors the life of the filter and provides a reminder when it is time for the filter to be changed. When the system detects either 12 months of usage, or the filtering of 416 gallons of water (whichever comes first), the CHANGE FILTER indicator light will illuminate. This indicates that the water filter should be changed and the light reset. To reset CHANGE FILTER light: Press and hold the LIGHT and LOCK pads until the CHANGE FILTER light blinks (approx. 3 seconds). The control is now reset for 12 months or another 416 gallons. Note: The Water Filter Reminder will operate if the filter bypass is in place. If you have other questions please let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

refrigerator moves out when doors are opened. how can I stop refrigerator from rolling out when doors are opened? We moved it out to clean under and behind. Have done this before and frig seems to "lock" in place. Tried a plastic wedge but it would slide on floor. 22 Cubic Ft. JCD2290HEW S/N 10596760EJ
Hi,
There should be some adjustable feet in the front that you can tighten down so that the wheels get pushed off the floor causing the fridge not to move. If that is already tightened down another idea is to find out the distance from the back wall and get a piece of wood that length and just set it back to prevent the fridge from moving back.
Please check the bellow link…

jenn air jcd2389ges side by side refrigerator replaced filter and then had water leaking from bottom at rear of unit. Leaks only when I use water dispenser on door or when icemaker uses water.
Thanks.
Brad
sounds like a leak where your incoming water line hooks to the water valves might just need to tighten the coupling or a mouse has chewed through one or both of the lines access the lines on the back and watch while some one gets water out the door to locate the leak

My freezer size of this appliance seems to work fine but the refrigerator side is warm. I suspect that the auto defrost system may be the culprit. Any ideas?
Both the main fan in the compressor compartment, and the small fan in the freezer compartment are working. Yes, the coil and everything else was frozen up, so a defrost problem may be the cause. However, removing all the ice didn't even temporarily improve the 'fridge temperature, which will not decrease below 50F, whereas the freezer will happily reach the correct temperature. There seems to be air flow through the small panel which moderates the door cooler, and some through the larger opening at the second drawer.T here was no obvious ice in the two ports adjacent the interior fan, though i didn't probe all the way down these two openings...can I? or are there breakable restrictions /valves in there?
model jcd2389GES, serial # 14063794AJ, which must code the manufacture year. Any help appreciated
change the adaptive defrost board located in the upper right corner of refrig under the panel. remove panel by pulling on panel towards you from the finger holes in the rear. remove two 1/4 inch screws and two phillips screws. defrost manually with hair dryer behind panel in freezer.

Hi, there. We have a relatively new (6 years old) Jenn Air side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. Rust has started forming at the water dispenser below the overflow collection "plate". A long vertical "snake like" streak of rust is going alway the down the door.
Any suggestions on how to remove the rust from the water dispenser and fix the rust streak down the door?
You may end up respraying the door, but here goes.-
First mechanically remove as much of the rust as you can with an old screwdriver or similar scraper. Then use coarse emery cloth - 80 -120 grit untill all you're left with is shiny metal with rust pits.
You may need to go out further than you think - about 1" all round.
Then use a paint- on de-rusting fluid from vehicle products supplier. When all rust is black or dissapeared, use a zinc primer on all the bare metal. (this will stop it reacuring)
Then either spray the area with an "appliance white" aerosol or squirt it into the cap, and use a paintbrush.
If you are spraying it, open all house windows and doors, cut a mask from newspaper- then tape it to the fridge. Use blankets , plastic dustsheet or old sheets to protect things, and spray it from 12" in several very light coats.
When done, "polish" with T cut - which should remove the rust stain too.
Seal the area of the original leak with a white or clear silicone - and sort the original leak out.
If you polish the plastic with a silicone spray, water will tend to stay put rather than seep.
