I have the same watch. I've figured out how change in and out of 24 hour time. 1. press and hold "ST/STP" until the month/day screen is visible. 2. while holding "ST/STP", press "MODE". A 'p' visible below the month/day indicates 12 hour mode. The absence of a 'p' indicates 24 hour mode.
