Want to replace processor intel V//V with a newer dup cpre at least but not sure if possible.

I would look at the motherboard specifications and then look it up online about what can or cannot be used with it. They often have a list of processors that can be used, on the makers website. Some even have forums. You can also look up the processor you want and see if it can be fitted to your motherboard. Intel might even be able to say if you give them enough specifications about your product.

XPS-410 needs to have MCE 2005 Rollup two SP3 replaced by Windows 7 64 bit. Too many problems to list currently but will work limited programs

Not sure what you are trying to do. If you are trying to convert 32 bit to 64 bit Apps, try going to manufacturers website to look for drivers. Win 7 will actually find the best drivers for your devices.

Dell xps 410 was in use, it beeped and shut down. Then it started powering up and off repeatedly. I pulled the plug to stop the sequence. When I repowered it, it now comes on, fan runs, dvd drives

It sounds as if you have a virus of some kind. I have just dealt with a similar problem. Even after the virus(s) were removed the service was still unable to start. The Operating System had been corrupted and required a re-install to get the system working again. System repair and restore failed. If the only problem is the fan running at full speed then you may need to apply a new layer of thermal paste. This stuff can go dry if you use the cheap stuff or it is old.

DHCP provides an IP address. This comes from your ISP or a wireless router if you have one. Always leave it on DHCP unless you were provided by a static IP.

My dell xps won`t stay on

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail. A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.
