Treager BBQ will not get hot at all.

Ensure your fire box is cleaned out and ventilation holes at the base are not obstructed. Ensure the induction fan is operating and moving air into the fire box.

According to Treager FAQ:

"I've been noticing that my grill temperature keeps dropping lower. What is the problem?
You need to "true" your auger. To do this:

Run the unit out of pellets.
Remove the allen screw and nut out of the auger and motor shaft.
Try spinning the auger shaft over the motor shaft. The auger shaft should spin freely over the motor shaft without binding.
If the auger binds, loosen the 7/16th inch bolts on the motor bracket and move bracket until you can rotate the auger shaft over the motor shaft. Then re-tighten 7/16th inch bolts. Make sure auger shaft still rotates over motor shaft, or repeat step 4 again until it does.
Reattach auger and motor shafts using the screw and nut which you removed in step 2."

Traeger BBQ trips circuit breaker

Mine is doing the same thing, but it does it within seconds of turning it on. I'd assume you as well have the digital thermostat. I've narrowed it down to what I believe is the hot rod igniter (or the purple connector). Unplug it and it should eliminate tripping and order new part or get warranty part.

Our Trager smoker will not go to the "smoke"

Make sure you are leaving it open long enough when you first turn it on. Everything in the smoke chamber needs to burn up before you begin. There also may be grease buildup in the bottom of your smoker that is catching on fire. If neither of these two possibilities work, contact Traeger support https://www.traegergrills.com/support

Getting to hot set on 180 ran at 260

Do you have grease in the bottom of your barrel? If it catches on fire, the Traeger cannot cool down by stopping the auger.

When I power on my traeger, it setws off the circuit breaker. The augher is not jammed.

The heating rod draws a lot of power. You may need to upgrade your circuit to a higher load. Alternatively, you may just have a bad circuit breaker. Have you tried plugging it into another circuit?

Sounds like you've got grease in the bottom that's catching on fire. Take the grill apart and clean out the bottom of the barrel. You'll probably need a shop vac to clean out the ash, too.

New purchase Traeger 07E and

It is time/weight based programming not PID. You can still cook just fine in this range. Just watch your internal temps closely.

Where is the fuse located on a Traeger

The fuse is located on the back side of the control panel, in a light green plastic housing. It should have a spare fuse zip-tied to it, which will also let you know the location of the old fuse.

I keep getting an error msg. When it finally starts, it shuts off with the Err

Hi Terry, This may help... ...from Treager's site FAQ "My Unit Goes Out On Smoke
  1. Open the cooking chamber lid and remove cooking grill, angled drip pan and U-shaped firepot cover. Look and see if there is a large accumulation of pellet ash in and around the firepot. If there is, it will need to be cleaned out. Do this ONLY WHEN THE GRILL IS TOTALLY COLD! Replace U-shaped firepot cover, angled drip pan and cooking grills and resume cooking/smoking process.
  2. If this does not remedy the problem, please contact the Traeger Service Department."
From my personal experience, cleaning out the pellet ash is needed when the smoker will not hold a high temperature regardless of the thermostat setting. In your case, the fire pot may be packed with pellet ash and pellets from the auger jamming. Good luck.

The traegger will not heat up past 350 degrees

Unfortunately, it's not realistically designed to heat above 250 -275 Degrees F. No matter what they call it, it's still a smoker, more than it is a grill. Even the Owner's Manual says the the optimal operation temperature is 180 to 200 degrees F. It's not designed to sear steaks.

Perhaps, if it was made of cast iron, rather than sheet steel, you could get the temp up past 350 degrees. If you really want a true smoker/grill, pay $700 to $800 and buy a Big Green Egg. And you wont have to buy some specialized pellets to burn in it. Just good old fashioned lump charcoal or wood chunks.

I wish I had better news for you, but it is what it is. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

GFI keeps kicking out I repleaced the hot rod, could it be the digitl thermomater

Could be that your auguris binding and putting heavy load on the motor. It could also be a bad GFI circuit. I doubt that your thermometer could put enough load on the circuit to cause the GFI to trip unless there's a big-time short in it. Could also be a short elsewhere in the wiring harness or fan motor.

Why would I buy another traeger? I had a problem and you were totally unhelpful. I will buy another brand name for christmas -not an $800 traeger. You lost a customer.

This is unfortunate. I have a Traeger Junior that I have had for over two years and I've been totally happy with it. I've also found Traeger customer support to be excellent and very helpful. I wonder if you just posted a question here or did you go to the Traeger website at www.traegergrills.com. If you didn't go directly to Traeger then you may not have gone to the right place. Don't know if Traeger monitors Fixya regularly or not.

Not smoking

Traeger grills just will NOT smoke at temps much above 200 degrees. I have to stand by my grill continually in the summer to keep opening and closing the lid to let the heat out. That also lets the smoke out. I also have turned the grill off and on to try to maintain the temperature at 180 degrees where it smokes best and cooks low and slow. It's less of a problem in the winter months. Then I find myself setting the temperature higher turning it from low to medium and back to maintain the temperature I want.
