Cozy (W352E) Heater Questions & Answers
Cozy heater banging and clicking
Well if it's considered an unsafe situation, please, for your own safety, hire you own experienced expert for a second opinion. Get the results in writing, and if it shows an issue that can be resolved exists, present it to the home owner and ask for a refund off the rent. If that unit has a cracking, creaking to it, probably just the metal heat exchanger expanding and contracting. It's a new unit with new noises, and may take time to get used to. Now if its a louder bang or piping sound, there may be an intermittent issue that needs to be addressed.
Cozy wall heater does not turn on
Hi, I will walk you through to check the stat. Pull off the cover 1st. You will need a screwdriver, a small one. Could be slotted or phillips. Loosen all of the screws you can see until the t-stat comes off. You have 3 sections counting cover. You will now see the sub-base and wires. You should have only 2 wires to the stat. You will need a piece of scrap insulated wire, even a piece of old speaker wire twisted togeter at each end will work. No worry of shock. Just jump or touch across the 2 terminals and hold them on and if it fires up and comes on, the thermostat is the fault. More then likely that will be the problem. Any hardware store will have one. Get a heat milivolt only, even if the salesman trys to sale you a heat/cool 24 volt stat which will work, but will cause problems in the future. I am sure it is stat. If not, contact me and I will walk you through what else would cause this. If the pilot is on, there is no ignitor on this furnace, either a thermopile generator or a thermocouple, a high limit switch and the main gas valve. Keep me posted, it will only take you a few minutes to test the t-stat. Let me know.

My Cozy Wall Heater won't turn off!
If the unit has a wall thermostat, remove one of the wires from the thermostat. If the unit stops it indicates a bad thermostat. If it continues to heat, remove one of the wires coming from the thermostat going to the gas valve inside the heater. If it continues to heat you have a bad gas valve. If the heater shuts off, you have a bad thermostat wire (short).
My cozy model #W355C won't stay lit. we replaced
When you replaced the Thermocouple, how tight did you tighten the nut that goes into the Gas Control Valve? If you over tightened it, that may be the problem.
Turn the heater off, let it cool and then loosen the nut with the appropriately sized open end wrench. Remove it completely, then reinsert it into the hole and finger tighten. Once it's finger tighten and with the wrench turn it only 1/4 turn more.
hlie you're at it, clean out the Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) if you haven't already. To find it, look down the pilot assembly from the tip where the flame comes out and you will see a little hole in the side of the pilot about 2/3rdsof the way down. That's the ODS. Using a can of compressed air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with) place the straw nozzle just barely into the hole and give it a quick blast of air. Also, blow out the pilot tip the same way.
Doing all of this should solve your problem. Please let me know.
