RZ37LZ55 not working
Hi Kulu, Did you end up solving this issue? I have a set with exactly the same problem.
Green light comes on no
In most cases the standby light might blink with different rapidity to indicate a fault relevant to the processor. It is possible that most of these indicate that there are errors in the processing section . Since there is a possible short or leak in the circuit the output driver section can take in huge current to trip the SMPS or from advice from the micro processor. Remove the power plugs and make sure that high voltage sections are discharged of the potential stored in capacitors. Look for visible signs of leak or of busted capacitors. Look for bulged capacitors or damaged components- burnt or busted. Use a multimeter to check the continuity or shorting in components, if so detach from circuit and test . If the voltage builds up and the set power ON and then shuts up then the suspected section must be checked in detail. Please check on board for DRY SOLDERING JOINTS- if so do a touch up soldering on suspected sections.

The processor must have the +5 voltage to the function properly , the +B and secondary voltages also must be checked to infer the fault. Trace with caution and in running through the signal path , circuit trail.
Check for tips to check the SMPS unit:

My LG tv is about 6 year old and has until now
Tv probally have a dying power supply board. That the board where the power a/c cord plug into it.U have all the tools and understanding basic electronic also can do basic soldering works too?Yes. Take the tv aparts, check the tv power supply board carefully for dying capacitors components parts. These dying soon to be dead capacitors components parts are alway bulged up or puffing up on to it tops. These capacitors components parts are dying and leaking to causes the tv power to unstables and shutdown.Replaced these dying capacitors with same Micro Fared and the voltages higer rating like 5 or 10 voltages higher. These higher voltages rating well help the tv power supply board capacitors components with stand heat better.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Lg rz-37lz55 wont turn on either with the remote
Tries unplug, replug the tv back like about an hour later. The tv should resetting itself back to the factory setting and should work again. If not the tv Tuner signal board have problems and it is the causes. That the board, where the incomming broadcasting signal cable plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish Tuner signal board for the replacement.
Picture loss after about 20mins
BAd you have problem with the back light most of the times caps that are preheated do this problem but some the the inverter its the bad part open it look for bad capacitate if not exchange the inverter and the power board and it will be ok
Our LG LCD RZ-37LZ55 wont turn on\off. The
One common part failure in the LG RZ-37LZ55 that can cause the symptoms you are describing is that the IC904 on the power card becomes damaged. In fact it is not uncommon for this part to burn a hole in its middle obscuring the part number! For your reference, the complete part number is STR-T2268 / 5907.
Not that this is the only thing that can go wrong with your TV's power supply - if you are handy I would definitely advise you to start with the power supply board of your set, looking for visible damage.
If you are not experienced with safe practice around the high voltages present in a television, please consider taking your set in for professional troubleshooting and servicing.
I hope that helps.
The screen has dark marks on it. Have never used
The wispy dark marks can not be removed. I've seen this problem many times on many models and screen sizes... the only fix is to replace the panel. As for a cause, I can only assume it is caused by deterioration. Perhaps of the polarizer or of the LCD material itself... I don't know. Due to the cost of LCD panels in the repair market, your best option is to use the TV until it can no longer be tolerated... then replace the TV. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.
Tv went bang and now power goes onand off but no
Hi I am Vortash , Most likely that your Power supply unit has shorted out possibly the bridge rectifier or possibly the SMPS drive ic's ( opto ) without looking at it directly this is almost impossible to say what it could be , even a shorted cap could blow the mains fuse and make a large bang when it goes so your best bet is to take it to an engineer .
Or take the number of the unit and seee what the manufacturers or a Radioshack type supplier will charge for a replacement , they are easy to fit and the plugs will be obvious just make sure you take a note of how they come out .. But be warned maybe something blew the power supply like a bad inverter or interface card ? so you might have problems and blow the new board , unless you can be sure it is so much better and cheaper to get an engineer to give you an estimate first . regards Vortash
