If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Close down any open applications on your computer.

Press the "Alt + F10" keys on your keyboard. This will open the eRecovery Management system on your computer.

Enter the password for the recovery system. The password will be the one you assigned when you set up the laptop or the default. The default is six zeros, or "000000."

Select "Recovery Options" from the start screen on the management system. Select the "Next" button to continue.

Choose "Reinstall Applications/driver" from the Options provided and press the "Next" button.

Select "Driver" and "Camera" from the Drivers screen. Move to the right side of the window and choose "Install Camera Driver Now."

please clarify this sequence of events: "on AC power,it seems to be working fine. But the problem occurs when I try restart it on the next morning"... was it restarted next morning on AC power or battery...which one?

It depends on the drive model but there is usually a 'button' on the drive door: while the unit is power up, just press it to open the cd/dvd drive bay.

Welcome to Fixya. May i know the steps that you did when you do the password reset? did you open the system? If the system shuts itself off can you please remove the battery to drain the power for 2-3 minutes then plug it back in to see if it will works. You can also remove the battery and try to run the computer by just using the AC adapter.

If your computer is stuck and you just want to get it working again, and you can't even restart it right now, then just hold down the power button for around 15seconds until it powers off and then turn it back on and it should work normally.

Hi, the problem is you cant without buying a new battery but what they dont tell you and should tell you is this.

when your using your notebook off the mains you should remove the battery as this keeps it working at its best only use the battery when you need to and after give it a full charge then leave it out whilst you use the notebook on the mains.

leaving the battery in will sap the life out of the battery and you will end up needing a new battery every few months as it just wont hold the charge as it did when new.
