There is a huge capacitor inside microwaves, and that description sounds like it is starting to fail. There are smaller capacitors as well. It won't be a door switch, they work or they don't. It's a guess, but something mis-connected on that new board. They usually have a number of edge connectors and you have two on the wrong pins. A guess never the less.
