My washer timer does not

Mr Patel your problem is easily solved my friend. I suspect you have a broken lid switch. To verify this Mr Patel you would remove the lid switch connection and jumper the 2 hot wires. Their are 3 wires going into the harness from that lid switch Mr Patel. One is a green ground wire connected to the frame. The other 2 are live wires leading to that lid switch. Jump them 2 wires and that washer will run if that lid switch has failed. I have written a short essay on the 4 most common failures of this wonderful machine and included 4 videos and a service manual Mr Patel. Once you have determined you indeed have a lid switch failure replace that lid switch do not leave it jumped out. Someone could get hurt monkeying around with a washer that is not properly fited to be safe. Stay safe my friend.

Washer fills, then just hums for about two minuts

Hello
The hum sound is coming from the motor that is probably bad and needs replacement. Hope you understand...the washer fills with water which indicates that the control and the water inlet valve are both fine however, as after this you hear a hum sound it means that the motor is bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

The machine will fill with water and wash clothes.

If the machine goes through all the cycles and just stops look at the lid switch. Depending on the age, its either located under the lid which you'll be able to see, or under the control heading. If its under the heading, lift the lid slowly and listen for a clicking sound. If you don't hear it the switch is not engaging and needs to be replaced. If its under the lid, you'll visually see if its broken, but listen for the clicking sound there as well. Motor turns but the tub inside does not rotate and

If the motor is humming, ,could be a frozen Pump. or worn, or broken Pump Belt. , and it could even be the transmission, If this a direct drive, I think it is, Now Direct Drive Motors use a small, Usually inexpensive, Direct Drive motor coupling. It wears out because it'a Plastic and rubber. One end connects the motor, the other end to transmission. They do tend to go out on older washers. You will have to remove the cabinet to replace it. Then Pry the two clips off the pump and pull it off the motor shaft. Push it aside, leaving the hoses attached. Next put the rubber portion back on the gear case, align it with one of the holes at the 12:00 Position, be careful putting it back in place. Also make sure you do not move the motors shaft. Put everything back in place on the top clip and bottom clip, connect your wiring harness, and put all screws back in place. I hope this helps you.

Water shuts off during the fill cycle and the

You will need to see the reason why the water cuts off, so check if the water level sensor the pressure switch is cutting off supply to the program controller unit. If so check for malfunction of the pressure switch or if the alignment has changed.
If the switch is not triggering and the voltage is cutting off to the inlet valve check the controller.

But if the valve is having voltage with no flow then it can be clogged or faulty.

Washer filled with water..........then nothing.

If this a Whirlpool manufactured top loader, the most common cause of the problem you just described is a lid switch malfunction or lid strike (actuator) problem. Symptoms may include, filling and stopping on the intial fill cycle, stopping right after the wash cycle, not advancing to rinse or spin cycles, and a wash tub that will not drain.

The lid switch is usually mounted under the washer top casing, on the right hand side on most top load models. It is activated by a plastic piece on the lid (called a "Lid Strike" or "Actuator") through a small hole on the rim of the wash tub opening. In many cases the lid strike breaks off the lid, or the lid switch becomes loose and no longer makes contact. Inspect the lid to make sure the lid strike is still intact, and then inspect the mounting screws (adjacent to the small opening on the wash tub rim) and make sure they are snug. If you determine the switch to be defective, the following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3557193-replacing_a_lid_switch

On some models, the lid switch is located under the top casing by one of the lid hinges. You will know if you if you have this type of switch, because it does NOT have a lid strike (actuator) and the small hole on the right hand side of the wash tub will not be present. This type of switch is actuated (toggled) by a rod on the lid hinge. With this type of switch, if you locate it and it can be toggled by hand, you may only need to adjust the actuator rod by bending it slightly.

NOTE: You do not have to drain or bail the water from the washer tub to perform this repair. Once a defective lid switch is replaced, the washer should drain normally.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following web sites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

The average price of a replacement lid switch is about $25 - $35 if you perform the repair yourself. Prices will vary between sites so shop and compare.

If you have questions, or need additional assistance, please post back and let me know. This is a very simple repair that you can easily perform without the assistance of a repairman.

If this advice does not help you enough, repairclinic.com has a Repair Manual you can order to assist you with all your repairs. The part number is 1170635 and is priced at about $20.

Searspartsdirect.com also has a repair manual for about the same price. Part number 4314044L. I hope this information is helpful to you.
