The question is not very clear and if you can confirm the make and model it will be better. Check if the connections are right and if the volume control of the remote works.

I have a 19" ESA. The Charter Code didn't work, so my sister suggested we go through all of the codes (for all the TV's). Thankfully, we didn't have to go past the A's. The code that worked for us was 052.

TRY THE SAMSUNG CODES for any universal remote I have heard this works for alot of people. It is pretty simple after you program the universal with samsung codes just press the av button

OK Listen Up! `=] I found the solution to everyone's problem.

Got to this website and click on the brand name of your universal remote (Philips, RCA, whatever).

Next, download the corresponding file with all of the remote codes. This will be a great help. It comes with all of the universal codes for most TV sets, and also instructions on how to setup and install the remote code.

But, remember....you must be patient. The PDF file is very huge so the remote code is not going to jump out at you and shout "HERE I AM!". You have to READ and look for it.

The way I found my universal code was by pressing the channel up button (over 300 times, literally) until the channel on the tv changed. That is what the instructions told me to do, and that's what I did. So, when all else fails, just FOLLOW DIRECTIONS! I know it may be long and painful, but trust me it was worth it! I got my remote control to finally work!

I own a One-for-All universal remote (model URC-4220) , and my booklet says the setup code for an ESA TV ( without a built-in DVD or VCR) is 0171 or 0812. I can not guarantee these numbers will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.
The alternative choice, is to purchase the same remote that I have, which cost less than 10 dollars at Walmart.

To start unplug the TV power cord for ten minutes, to reset the TV set.

TRY the SAMSUNG codes , if it doesnt work then go to this website to purchase a remote control that might work for your tv . www.ebay.com and write " ESA remote control ' you will find there a couple of units that might be suitable for your TV.

I got mine off of game mode by using a universal remote. I had to type in a channel, (03) and it got it out of game mode, but I now have the problem of not being able to get it back into game mode so that I can use my DVD player. Good luck
