My machine filled, but then stopped. I'm having

Pull the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and lower it into a bucket. Simple gravity should allow the water to run out of the wash tub. You will need to return the hose to the standpipe and repeat this process several times in order to completely drain it.

Another method is to use a wet/dry shop vac and pull the water directly from the tub.

The problem you describe sounds like a broken lid switch. A washer that fills and stops is a common symptom of a lid switch, or actuator, malfunction.

If you need further assistance, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Where do you put the fabric softner

Some of these models had the fabric softener cup in the top of the agitator but I don't believe this model does .You will have to do it the old fashion way and wait till the rinse cycle starts and open the lid an pour it in.. Or get one of those Downy fabric softener balls for dispensing they work great and you wont have to stand by the washer to try to time it right...Hope this helps GOOD LUCK

We are getting rust stains

Hi,

I would try to do a load without any detergent. If you still get spots then your washer probably needs to be taken apart and cleaned. You could have rust in the agitator or maybe there is some kind of lubricant from the mechanics getting into your wash.

If it doesn't stain, then you need to look at your detergents. Use liquids not powders.

Do a load without any chemicals first. That will narrow it down.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

The washer fills but will not progress to agitate

Sounds like the switch telling the machine that the lid is open is either broken or loose. The safety feature of the lid switch will allow the water to fill, but will not allow the motor to start (as it should) if the lid is open.If you are handy with things electrical, simply bridge the switch out.

Water comes out wash cycle good but slow at rinse

do you mean filling the washer up or draining it out?i think you mean filling it up,on washers just the cold water is used to fill the washer on the rinse cycle, you can shut the water down and remove the cold water line and see if you can clean out the screen in the washer water valve, also while you have the hose off, stick it in the washer and open the valve to see how the pressure is,if it's coming out strong then the problem is in the washer and you should change the washer water valve,if it's coming out slowly then you have a problwm with the house water valve and need to change that out.let me know what you find

I have a whirlpool thin

The motor is reversible. One direction it washes. The other direction she pumps and she spins. When it goes into spin the spin pawl is tucked in neat as a pin under the main drive gear by latch and a trip lever. The timer has a momentary pause built into it after the pump has had time to remove the water from the drum. Centrifugal force activates the neutral package and shift the spin pawl out wards. Their are 3 areas under the main drive gear that the spin pawl can grab onto called Bosses. Hay I ain't makin this up. When the spin pawl catches a boss it locks into place and brangs that puppy to life. Well what goes wrong you may ask? Over time the spin pawl gets smashed down and won't catch a boss. Their will be no spin action. If the clutch is good,no sign of oil leaking out any seals and the main drive gear has all it's splines(yes I have seen it get smooth as a baby's bvtt) Then I suspect you need to remove the tranny, remove the clutch. Put that tranny in a vice. Remove the cover and use snap ring pliers to remove the main drive gear retainer. Gently lift up the main drive gear and inspect the spin pawl. If it is bad it will look like it has been smashed down which it has. LOL

Whirlpool washing machine

you dont youll need to remove the top of the washer, first remove the angular access panel between the washer and dryer, youll see 2 brass clip holding down top POP those off, there may be 2 screws directly behind the clips as well, the main top will slide off. now there are 2 5/16 screws holding the front panel on probably 5 inc or so down on inside wall of unit, after the front panel is removed youll see the suspension for hte unit, theres 3 suspension rods, im sure 1 or more is broke or come detached. retailing for about 85 bucks id see the temptation to replace the broken one but honestly id replace all three if that is indeed the problem

My stackable whirlpool washer doesn't spin/work

The most likely cause is the motor coupling , its the plastic and rubber parts between the motor and transmission. Try turnig it with your finger.

The barrell has come loose on my thin twin stackable washer/dryer

The struts, shocks, springs...they are called different things depending on who you speak to. Apparently on the heavy duty thin twin stackable units they are all bad and last for about 13 months just after the manufacturers warranty, this is common knowledge among Whirlpool technicians and even the replacement parts that are being installed are not performing for the lifetime they were designed. I have contacted a repair service and they are scheduled for the middle of next week and over the phone he ballparked the estimate at about $300.00.
