Whirlpool model WTW5310VQO
i've found problems with the temp. switch on this washer part number
W10184148 and it's around 40 dollars, also on the rinse cycle the washer only uses cold water.what happens when you use just the hot?i had a lady that her water would start to fill and then the water would stop and the pipes in the house would start making a banging sound.if you order the part from http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Switch/W10184148/1468990 repair clinic and if this isn't your problem which i think it is from how you discribe it you can send the part back and get your money back for up to a year.good luck with your washer and next time you buy something and it doesn't work right get right on it

Excessive lint on clothes and smell
There is many solutions that work some. The best analogy I have seen is to reduce the wash time as the newer soaps are more efficient at removing dirt which also softens the fabric. Any excess in soap regardless of type in combination with water type will cause an odor, why is the contaminents in the water plus the junk on are clothes to be polite. It builds up under the basket and along the top water line in the tub plus creates a film from the tub through the hoses, pump and house drain. Lint is a product of excess washing and too much soap. Whirlpool stated for there front loaders no more than two TBL of liquid soap which is like 3/8 cup max for the old top loader. SearsTechToo

Whirlpool washer wont spin
A lot of times the transmission on these go. The entire trans is about $120 the last time I checked. If you are going to do this yourself maybe worth it, but to hire someone it is probably time for a new machine

Will not spin
if it filled with water and then stopped check the lid switch, open the lid around 2 inches and close it,do this a few times if you don't hear a clicking sound the switch is bad,if you can hear the motor running but the washer doesn't spin or agitate then you broke the motor coupling, both are easy fixes, watch the video from utube and it will show you how to get at the parts, good luck with your washer and if you need anymore help let me know.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFsvLiuTniU this will show you how to get at the lid switch but your switch is different if your model is lsq9549l,your switch is hidden under the top console part number
8054980 and it's around 22 dollars and this is for the coupling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K1KHEogf3c

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II is not draing properly and water is flooding out during spin cycle.
remove the hose up where it connects to the tub and see if there isn't anything stuck there, you could still have something stuck between the tubs and it usually will end up here or you could have a damaged pump from the piece of towel you pulled out of it or there's another piece still up in between the tubs and hopefully you'll find it at the hole where the drain hose is.

My whirlpool ultimate II washer was working fine and just stopped. I could smell something like wiring getting hot and now it won't do anything. The basket is still full of clothes and water.
remove the frame, pop off the two clips that hold the pump on and pull the pump off of the motor shaft, start the machine,if it runs you have something stuck in the pump.if it does run get a shop vac and remove the water from the tub, then remove the clamps on the hoses just push them down the hose with a pair of plyers then loosen one hose at a time so you can vac out the water, once you have all the water out you can remove the pump and see what's stuck in it,usually,a sock, womens underwear or a metal from a bra.if it's not the pump move the shaft on the motor with the plyers were the pump slides onto, you could have a flat spot on the motor and by moving the motor at the shaft might free it up,i've done this, some motors will run all the time after this or it could stop again on the next load, watch it and see what happens.http://www.youtube.com/user/RepairClinic?v=DwV71h86Gxw&feature=pyv&ad=5457341861&kw=washer%20pumpwatch video and it will show you how to get at the pump and motor.good luck with your washer

Whirlpool ultimate care II agitator seems as if it is not woking properly
this is for the whirlpool washer,if you grab the top of the agitator can you spin it both ways without it grabbing,it should only spin one way,if you can spin it both ways you have bad dogs, the agitator cam kit part number is 285809 and it's around 13 dollars.pop off the center cap of the agitator, remove the 7 1/6 inch screw in the middle and pull off the top of the agitator to get at the dogs, you'll see them there are 4 of them, they waer down and the top of the agitator doesn't work.watch this video.
