Won't fill with water, will spin

Turn the water off and remove the hoses from the machine. Check for clogged screens, pry them out and wash them then re install the screens and retry. To replace the water valve is pretty easy. Removing the cabinet will be what ya gotta do. Their are plenty of videos on youtube which show how to replace a water valve on a direct drive washer. Whiripool washer drains water, agitate OK but does not spin. What is the possible cause of the problem? Thanks!

are you sure it agitates or it sounds like it,you could have a broken motor coupling and i would check this first anyway, also check to see if any oil is around the coupling area a little ways back on the trans.if you do find oil on your hand you have a bad trans.just rub your hand over the bottom of the trans. right behind the motor and coupling.watch videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K1KHEogf3chope this helps, also when you set it to spin if you hear the motor running and hear like a grinding noise this is the coupling.

Does not spin

did the water drain out?if the water drained out,you can hear the motor run but you have no spin or sgitate you most likely have a broken motor coupling,if it still has water in it check the lid switch, open the lid a few inches and then close it down if you don't hear a clicking sound the lid switch is broke.these are the normal thingss that happen, you could have a problem with the transmission but you have to send more info, just saying it diesn't spin can be alot of different things.

Washer agitates but won't spin or drain - makes a humming/buzzing sound during those cycles

check the pump, could have a sock or something stuck in it.usually i would say to check the lid switch, open and close the lid,if you don't hear a clicking sound the washer won't go into spin or drain but if you're hearing a humming sound that's the motor watch this videohttp://www.youtube.com/user/RepairClinic?v=DwV71h86Gxw it will show you how to get to the pump.pop off the two clips that hold the pump on and remove the pump just pull it backwards off of the motor shaft, now get a piece of wire and strip the ends on it,2 to 3 inches long, unplug the washer before you start to work on it,get your jumper wire and stick it into the wire harness that connects to the lid switch, don't plug it into the ground plug it into the other two wires not the green wire,i'm pretty sure it's the two outside wires and the green ground is in the middle, plug the washer back in and pull the timer out in the spin cycle,if the motor runs and spins you know something is stuck in the pump or the pump is bad,but just to make sure it's not the lid switch and it is the pump put the pump back on and start the washer again if you hear the humming it's the pump or before you pull the pump jump out the lid switch and see if it spins and drains,if it doesn't then pull the pump so you don't have to stick the bad pump back on the washer, all the lid switch is for is so the washer will not run in the spin with the lid open and some washers won't even agitate if the lid is open by using the jumper wire we are bypassing the lid switch to check the washer while it's apart.hope this helps and if you can let us know how you make out so if someone else reads this with the same problem it will help them out too.

I think on that model you have to get in it from the back side and then look up to remove the screws that hold the lid in place.

Leaves white marks on coloured clothes

I'd try putting the machine on a hot fill wash, max water level put in half a cup of baking soda when the machine starts to washer turn it off and leave it to soak overnight, then let it finish the cycle the next day. Also make sure you tip some of the hot water down the beach dispenser and clean all around the top of the machine

Cheers

The hot water barely comes out of my washing machine. The cold water is fine

It seems to be that the HOT line is clogged, You need to flush out more with high pressure or by removing the hot line and reverse flushing. Also check for dirt accumulation at the hot line input and valve.

Whirlpool ultimate care II

It is so common that the washing machine can make terrible noise in many ways and is a common fault. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that machine is vibrating when it is running then the motor /drum suspension has to be inspected. Since these fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for the noise with a good inspection lamp. Manually turn the motor and drum and listen for the noise, if so the motor bearings, the drum agitator shaft and fittings must be checked. Also the suspensions which include the shock absorbers and springs, the body clamps must be checked to be in correct alignment and not changed in position. Tightening of the mounting is also very important. Finally in most cases a drop of OIL or smear of grease on the moving parts cane solve most issues.

Whirlpool ultimate care ii won't spin

Possible that the drive is jammed , there is slipping or the motor is faulty. You need to check for free movement after disconnecting the power, if there is friction it must be reset.

Whirlpool ultimate care II will fill up with water but not do anything else

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Check this link to replace the inlet valve:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Removing the Agitator on a G157 Hotpoint washing machine

Some models have a bolt towards the bottom of the outside of the agitator, depending on model. If it has one, take out out and you'll have to yank on it VERY hard to get of off (you'll most likely lift the machine off of the ground a few times in the process!)

If the bolt isn't there, its under the top cap of the agitator "somewhere". You'll still have to yank up on the silly thing to get it off after taking the bolt out.

Good luck!
