Whirlpool GBD307PDS Electric Double Oven - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Oven beeped by itself and display went blank.
Hi- Wow - Honestly wish i had good news, but this is a little different critter. The touch membrane is connected to control board by a ribbon tape with a whole bunch of little contacts that can become corroded, affecting proper function. Display failure is usually a control fault, however, and unfortunately this board is one of the most expensive to replace. - Bravo on not using the 'self-destruct' function.- The control still routes all the power through it's circuits, and failures under normal use are not uncommon. Best option is a service call from a good tech in your area. This is a tricky one to diagnose. Find out cost to fix before repair. Let me know if this info helps ya, have more if needed- Thanks- Ed

I am having the same problem that many others are.
It is and you are doing what you should. We know that a lot of these problems are being caused by the heat from a self-cleaning cycle rising up into the circuit board. I get a lot of these problems right after someone self-cleaned their oven, although it can fail completely months after the cleaning cycle damaged the board. So in the future try and use the self-clean cycle very sparingly and set the timer to clean for only two hours if it will allow it. My best advice is to not use the self-cleaning clycle, use aluminum foil in the oven floor, and hand clean the door and walls as you use it. Do not use oven cleaner on this as most of the cleaners will damage the self-cleaning oven liners. Change the aluminum foil when it gets dirty and never self clean with the aluminum foil in the oven. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Hi--my whirlpool double oven,model gbd277pds10
Hello,
Getting beeps when you push the keypad buttons means that power is getting to the control board. First, try shutting off the breaker to power down the oven for a few minutes, then turn back on. This will force a system reset, hopefully the oven will recover.
If not, you probably have a problem in the control board. If this is the case we may be able to save you some money if you can get the board pulled. We repair oven controllers at www.fixyourboard.com

Oven is dead after clean cycle
This is a fairly common problem. The extreme heat causes the heating relay to freeze open. Go online and get a schematic of the range. The thermocoupler (I think that is the name) is in the back and should be shown. If there is a error code go online and list your range model and error code.

Whirpool rbd275yPDT11 no power after auto clean
I printed down the installation sheets. I could not locate the thermal fuse on the control panel (which was the easiest to get to without removing the oven) so I went ahead and removed the oven. The upper and lower thermal fuses were fine. I put in back into the wall and my husband found the control panel thermal fuse--it was in-line--so we tested it and it was bad. I could not find anyone online that carried this fuse-or even knew the name of it. After much hard work we finally got the info off it--Microtemp KLBALY G4A00 TE 110C. Nowhere could I find a replacement except for something I am hoping is comparable online at Goodman (?). So while I am waiting for the fuse, I went to Radio Shack who had a thermal inline fuse rated at 128C for coffee pots and hair dryers. Also got some fully insulated crimp on connectors. Hooked it up and it works--havent cooked yet--to do cookies soon to test it. So far it seems like everything is running ok. I WILL NOT EVER USE THE AUTO CLEAN again. I dont get why the company has let it lie without helping unknowing consumers

Whirlpool GBD307PDS Electric Double Oven
I fixed my problem by disconnecting the control board, cleaning all the contact points (including the ribbon cable) with alcohol and reconnecting everything as tight as possible.
I did notice that one of the contacts had become very corroded, so I scrubbed this one for a while. Prior to this I had done some selective unplugging and replugging (ribbon cable in particular) to no avail (each of these attempts powered on to beeping and no display).
Not a fancy solution, but it did work!

I have a Kitchen Aid
there are thermal overloads in the back of the oven, if this is a built-in, you will have to remove the oven from its space and take the case off of it.

The baker is not coming on
if you know you have the proper voltage to the unit (gas 120v), electric(220V) then you will have to replace the board

We had a power outage
Turn the breaker off for 5 minutes. this will reset the system. If you still have no power then it spiked your control board and it's the board that is fried.

Oven shut down after self clean
I had a problem with the door becoming locked and all we did was flip the breaker and it reset it so that the door was unlocked. The control panel was still broken but the door opened.
