Refrigerator is not cold enough
Check thermostat setting. If that does not do the trick check to see that your auto defroster is working properly - if ice is forming on rear panel of freezer that is definitely the problem and the defrost heater element is burnt out and needs replacement. How are your door gaskets - tight? Evaporator fan working?
Ice sticking in tray of ice maker
Sounds like the coating on the ice maker is coming off, look where the cubes set and see if it is discolored, if it is then time for a new ice maker. Good Luck!
Water leaks from freezer compartment onto the floor. Ice forms on bottom of freezer, then melts onto the floor.
In addition to the the other answers, also check to make sure your ice maker is not leaking around the the equipment box. Except for water on the floor, I had the same problem as you did, ice in the bottom of the freezer. It turned out to be the ice maker leaking, which is a common problem with that particular ice maker. I bought one on line and replaced it myself. If that is part of your problem, I can give you instructions on replacing it. It's not too hard. I had the same problem. The ice maker started leaking water into the ice storage bin. I had to replace the ice maker. I did it myself and it’s easy. I ordered one over the internet. Here’s the link to the Sears parts: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/Kenmore-elite-Refrigerator-Parts/61005508/0046/464/Model-59676603600/0583/0161000.htmlYou’ll see three adjusting screws on the side of new ice. They preset at the factory so don’t touch them!Ice maker replacement Instructions for bottom freezers: First, use your refrigerator to store the frozen food because it will only take you about 30 minutes to replace the ice maker. Unplug the power. Lift the ice maker wire switch to shut it off. One step no one tells you about but makes the job much easier is to remove the freezer sliding door. Remove the wire mesh storage tray in the freezer. Then with the drawer door pulled out, lift it up slightly with the handle, which releases it, and slide it out of the rails. Now you got it made! Carefully pull the front plastic cover off the ice maker. When you pull on it, you will see it separate from the rest of the machine. It simply snaps off and on the maker. You may need it for you new machine. Mine did not come with one. Unplug the wiring harness from the top back of the freezer. There are two hex head screws that hold the ice make to the side of the freezer. Unscrew them and the ice maker is free to remove. If your new maker did not come with the wire switch, simple pull the old one out of each side the switch mechnisiam and slide it into the new one. Now reverse the above steps to install your new maker. It may take an hour or so for it to start operating, just be patient. You may want to just sleep on it?
Why does my control panel show er 1f
Had the same problem with my Kenmore Elite Series Refrigerator. Upon searching for the answer the closest and simplest answer was a faulty fan specific to the ice maker compartment. This fan is suppose to regulate the humidity in the ice maker, but sometimes the humidity becomes too high and that causes the fan to freeze. (A tell tell sign is when your Ice Maker shoot freezes up, or water begins to drip from the Ice Maker and puddles up in the catch tray or on the floor in front of the Refrigerator). When the fan becomes frozen, that causes the 1F error display to come on. There was also a second reason that was consistent with a faulty circuit board, but that did not match as closely as the faulty fan.
Most answers directed you to replace the fan...but I gave this a try first, and by the way my option has solved my problem fan for over two years now. Simply .. open the refrigerator door and turn the Ice Maker off. Then take the ice tray out and dump any remaining ice and clean and dry off the tray and the ice shoot that the ice drops through into your glass. Leave the Ice Maker off for 3-5 days, giving the fan enough time to thaw and dry out. You will have to live with the inconvenience of no Ice Maker for that amount of time .. but you can do that rather than paying an enormous fee to have it serviced in home (unless you're still under warranty). After 3-5 days has expired simple turn the Ice Maker back on. If by any chance this doesn't work..try it a second time but leave the Ice Maker off 5-7 days. Honestly, this should solve the problem. Mine is still working flawlessly. God Bless
What is 1F code on kenmore elite refrigerator
The Er IF error code indicates that the main control board detects that the ice compartment cooling fan is not working. This will cause a lack of cooling in the ice compartment and will normally result in no ice production. This is something that a service technician will usually need to correct.
How to defrost a kenmore elite freezer 795.75545401
defrost timer, u can get by and test manually by placing a small screw driver into the tiny slot or hole underneath the timer and turn slowly clockwise till u hear 1 click. this will engage ur defrost cycle in about 15 minutes u should be able to come back and feel the heat in freezer as it melts the ice providing ur terminator is not bad?
Another way to test it is with a multi meter. Remove timer it from fridge and you will see 4 prongs numbered 2,1,4,3 in that order. Place ur meter prong on prong 1 & 3 (if your fridge has a capacitor wired in series with the windings, then u check for micro fares rather than OHMS) If u cannot confirm this test, still try the next.
Take ur meter prong and connect to prong 1 & 4, it should read resistance or ohms ( closed) now remove prongs and place on prong 1 & 2, this should now read infinity or open (no ohms) now take a small screwdriver place it in the tiny hole or slot under the timer. Turn it clockwise slowly till u hear 1 click. Now ur 1& 2 should read closed ( showing ohms or resistance) now place meter prongs on 1 & 4 and you it should now show open ( or no resistance - no ohms) this is how u know ur timer is good, Remember when testing for ohms ADJUST meter to use a high ohms rating in the thousands as the resistance is very high in OHMS. And adjusting to low ohms rating may give a false reading or not show the proper resistance..
