My acer AL1716 monitor has some sort of problem

It may be because it has bad DC filter caps, bad transformers, etc. Please read my guide and read about bad caps and look at the pictures of failed ACER and other monitors albums.

My monitor won't stay on, comes on goes black,

Look for bad caps first, then the rest of the components in the power supply/inverter circuits.

You have an unstable power supply, take a look at the DCfiltr caps for leaking/bulging tops.

Display problem

hi raju knowu
welcome to the forum! From safe mode open 'display properties', then 'settings'. It should show a screen area of 640 x 480 and 16 colors. Click 'apply' and 'OK'. It should give you a message that you're changing the settings for normal mode. Click to confirm that. Then shut down and restart in normal mode. It should boot OK to thedesktop.
Then you need to figure out what happened. Since they were both the same laptop the video drivers should be the same, or was one of the laptops using an external monitor?
Check in device manager and see if it shows a problem with the video adapter. If so you may need to reinstall the video drivers. If not, try the recommended video settings for the laptop.

The ON/OFF button blinks but no screen image

Hello,

Since the power led button is on, I think the picture board on your monitor is faulty that is why it is not displaying anything.

Since your computer work perfectly with other monitor, it means the picture board is bad that is why it is not displaying any image.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or any service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself in other to complicate issues.

Take care.
