Discharge air is HOT!! - not cool

A Dehumidifier will not cool your basement, just make it seem cooler at the same temp. Your dehumidifier may be undersized even for that purpose. You need an AC outlet of a central AC in your basement, or a window unit if there are windows. Warm air at discharge is normal.

Unit is not collecting any water in bucket (it has

There are 5 basic things cause the problem you're having. Number 1, you have already taken care of.

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder
level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

The light indicating that "bucket

This usually happens when either the Float Valve in the bucket is stuck in the UP position (if yours is so equipped. Jiggle it to get it to return to the DOWN position.

If you humidifier's bucket is not so equipped. It's usually an indication that the bucket was not reinstalled properly, after it was removed. To check and correct this, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit. Remove the bucket and reinsert it, making sure that it fits "squarely" in the bucket holder from Top to Bottom. Once installed, make sure the bottom of the bucket is not tilted down in any way. Plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. If it was reinstalled correctly, the bucket full light should have gone off and the unit will run as it should, if the humidity extraction level is set low enough.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

I have the LG Humidifier

Hi

Error code CH 01 means temperature sensor assembly gone bad. To resolve the error code you would need to change the sensor assembly. To check unplug it and take off all the covers. Now access the control board and remove the old temperature probe by pry T-well open with small screwdriver. Close the back when when new sensor is installed.
Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

The most common source of noise is the handle on the water bucket. I'd just remove the handle.

She was a little noisy with the fan sounding like

The capacitor should not be hot, so the motor could be drawing high amps do to a worn bearing which could cause the rubbing sound.
With the power off try to move the motor shaft from side to side, it shouldn't move any that way, if it does the bearings are worn and you need to replace the motor and the capacitor. The other cause for the hot capacitor would be a bad capacitor.
If the motor is bad you should also replace the capacitor at the same time.

Why isn"t my dehumnidifier

It could be that it is just too cold still. Typically these units don't work well if it is under 70 degrees. However....we have had a lot of problems with these machines. Many of them have either sealed system problems (leaks) or the fan motor fails. I would suggest that you take it to an authorized repair center if possible. I believe there is a five year warranty on the machine.

Fan

Depending on the ambient temp/humidity and how its set it could definitely run continually. If you don't hear it it's possible the blade is broken or just stuck.
