Over powering issues

It sounds as though the IO Board is bad. Personally I would sell it on eBay for parts or Repair only. Take the money and buy another working unit. Or you can go here MacBook Air 13 Mid 2013 Heat Sink Replacement and check out this iFixit repair site . This is going to be a lengthy repair, but following the instructions you should be able to do it. I used the HeatSink repair, but you can choose any of the listed repairs for this item.

How to install ubuntu linux apple macbook pro notebook

Safest option would be to purchase a specialised virtualisation software product like paralleles Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac The 1 choice of customers worldwide to run. OR Fusion http://www.vmware.com/au/products/fusion then download an .iso which is a cd image of Ubuntu http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/burn-a-dvd-on-mac-osx the LTS version of Ubuntu stands for long term support, the version that will most likely work on your mac will be the 64bit version. I would suggest using a virtualisation program rather than replacing the mac operating system so that you can be running both mac os and ubuntu at the same time, without having to shutdown one to access the other. Hopr this helps.

Macbook pro 2010 fan makes very loud noise

Id suggest that you make sure you don't have debris clogging the vent ports. Apple's vents are between the display and the lower case. They're kinda hard to see so put you monitor down as flat as it will go like 180 degrees away from the bottom case and turn it around. If its dirty you cab try to clean it with compressed air or canned air, but its best to open it up and blow it out of the machine not in. Do a youtube search if you're not aware how to take it apart, and you probably should have to take off more than the bottom cover. Good Luck!

Removing DVD from slot in MacBook Pro

If youre sly you can get away with using a paper clip to push on an eject mechanism on the side towards the back. If that doesn't work you may have to disassemble. Depending on which year model you have you might need a Torx precision driver (one can be bought at home depot for <$10) and a precision phillips head screwdriver. If you're unsure on how to open it up, do a youtube search, theres plenty of videos on how to do it right.?

Mac stuck on mute

with the headphone plug inserted/removed will eventually clear the lockup. If one were to carefully measure all headphone plugs they would find that many don't meet the standards for length. Using the wrong size seems to jam the MB Pro headphone jack- I've never had a problem using iPod headphones but I have experienced the problem with some cheap patch cords that are sometimes plugged in.

Macbook screen is zoomed or magnified too much. How do i reset it?

Accessibility Zoom? If everything is messed up and not just one app, you may have managed to switch on accessibility features and triggered the zoom. Does the screen scroll around as you move the cursor? As all of the controls are customisable, some things may not work but try <option><command><minus> to zoom out. Go to System Preferences and select Accessibility. Choose Zoom on the left and uncheck 'Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom' and 'use scroll gesture...'. Otherwise, some of the other suggestions should help.

If the laptop still works you were lucky. The screen will die eventually when you open the lid too far again. Take it to Apple and get it fixed.

How to down load ubuntu linux

Go to the Ubuntu download center Ubuntu 13 04 Raring Ringtail And download the 64 bit mac image that works on mac computers http://releases.ubuntu.com/13.04/ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64+mac.iso Burn it on a CD or on a USB using the instructions on this site How to create bootable USB stick on OS X Boot the computer using the image. On Windows based systems you can run a demo (a mock install) to verify compatibility with the hardware. If you are satisfied you may install it alongside Windows (dual boot), or alone. There should be something similar for macs (I know close to nothing on those machines).

Netflix displays 'plug-in problem' when I try to watch anything

Try re downloading the silverlight driver. I had a similiar issue a few weeks ago, I delayed my update to watch something, the browser crashed, and I got the a similiar error. I tried using chrome, safari, firefox. Then I just updated the silverlight plug in, rebooted just to make sure, then worked fine. The attached link should scan and give you a link to download. If this doesn't work, please let me know.
